Riiight, this is so unbelievably racist. Black channel, black radio stations, black talk shows, now they have a whole black month. Racist, they need to celebrate being black like I need to celebrate being white. I can just imagine saying to my boss, “I can’t come in to work today, it’s a white holiday… and I’m going home to watch my t.v. channel for whites, and bask in my white parades and holidays.” Give me a break. I wasn’t racist before at all, but this is really making me look differently at things. They complain about segregation so we got rid of it and everyone became equal, then what do they do? The go back to segregation. Black history month, get real.

Do we have something that has "white" infront of it like it's only for whites? no. I'm waiting for my "White Channel." "Black Entertainment Channel" give me a break. And I want my damn holiday while we're at it too... one that actually is titled "White History Month" where all you learn about or hear about are WHITE people throughout history. I can't believe society is letting blacks segregate themselves from society like this.

Exactly. When a black person gets tired of watching white people on TV they have a channel to go to. Like when I get tired of watching US programming I turn to my Portuguese channel.

Most channels cater specifically to white american culture. Blacks, hispanics, and all forms of foreigners have different cultures which they would like to watch instead of the stereotypical american culture.

If you started a channel for white people only you would just have morons saying you can't do that. Even though you should be allowed to do that. People just have this idea that anything whites only is hate based? Remember that one senator who made those racist remakes then goes on a tv channel that is pro segregation is pretty funny.

I know more about foriegn figures in history then my own black american brothers. I had a history class but couldnt learn about influential black history unless I took it as an elective, even then I needed the requisites for it.

Black comedians are typically my favorite. as long as they dont over use the "black people do ____ while white people do ___" Chris Rock commented on this. **** even Richard Pryor didnt abuse it and he and guys like Red Fox started it.

Black’s are so diverse from the typical American white man that I support that they have their own channel where they can go and feel a little more like a black man. Their culture, eating, clothes, as well as their history is so diverse from ours that, well, what the hell let’s give them anything they want and label it for blacks only!! Let’s give them a whole damn month to be proud to be black and label it black history month… so all people will hear around the whole U.S. is that this is the month to appreciate the Blacks, the people that we are so different from and don’t usually respect. Now we have a whole month to learn about this largely different breed, called the blacks.

That was sarcastic… but a majority of black these days support that. Whites are NO different from blacks except the skin pigment. There are no other differences except the differences that they create for themselves.

i kinda agree with Mouse on this one. he has a legitamite arguement. segregating is what we try to stop, yet we open our arms to it. its really quite hipocrytical.

Mouse, I kinda understand what your talking about? You have to remember that remembering the past helps them to find a races roots and defines them as a whole. Remembering the past bolsters ones race and also to not forget and to not make the same mistakes.

Black people have they're own tv shows. Because as an african american race. They're are somethings we just can't relate to them. When I was younger we use to get stopped all the time by cops. Cuz amazingly we also seemed to fit the damn description. Funny cuz I was always the only asian person there.

Mouse it is a culture thing. Just like northern white americans can't understand bull riding and southerners can't understand understand handball. Do they eat differently from us. Technically, once again its a cultural thing. Its like saying italians have their pasta. Chinese have their egg rolls and etc... Individual races within their cultures have their own distinct affinities for certain things.

Just because the bet channel is called black entertainment channel. Doesn't totally mean its trying to segrate itself to other channels. It just means that its a black "ENTERTAINMENT" channel. Just like there is the chinese channel, portugese, and etc... Once again, can you really relate to a black person to their comedy and how they can laugh to always getting pulled over? Has anyone else ever noticed the show friends 99% of the time only has white people on it? Which would make sense if they lived in Nebraska. But the whole cast lives in the heart of New York.

I remember in a newspaper for asians-only called Chopsticks, I read an article about how how they can surgically open their eyes now so they don't have to squint anymore and can finally see the rice and raw fish that they eat rather than looking through a partially opened eye vision.
