For those who weren't raised in NYC, The Stretch and Bobbito Show is heralded as the greatest Hip Hop Radio Show of All Time. It would air on 89.9 WKCR in NYC from 1am to 5am every Thursday Night and spawned the careers of BIG, Nas, Jay Z, Wu-Tang, and many others. The show was passed on to my man Timm See and Sucio Smash and is now called "Squeeze Radio" (which I had the privilege of being a guest on).

Take a look at the history:

Those dudes are straight up west coast haters for real. I've got a tape of one of their shows, and all they wanted to talk about was how wack the west coast is.

What do you mean? They've had all of Hieroglyphics, Tha Alkoholiks, Ras Kass, Saafir, Da Pharcyde, etc on that show.

Keep in mind their show was 90% jokes. They ****ted on a lot of NY guys too LOL

All I'm going by is the tape I have, so I guess its not really a fair judgement on my half. But from what I have, dudes sounded like some straight up haters.

The only connection I see, is that those groups have more of an eastcoast based sound, whereas when the people they were clowning on, didn't.
