Gift of Gab 02-04-2009, 01:09 AM i love that album it is a classic in my books i had a job interview today and on the application one of the questions was "if you lost your entire music collection which 3 albums would you make sure you bought first?" Illmatic was one of them. what were the other two? res 02-04-2009, 01:15 AM It's a great album. Nas has two classic albums (Illmatic and Stillmatic) and one album that desrves to be (It Was Written) but will probably never be seen that way. MegStarr* 02-04-2009, 01:41 AM what were the other two? A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory and Blu & Exile - Below The Heavens. those were the first three that came to mind. they each have tracks that are pretty essential in my life right now. then when i was being interviewed i said that i had to add Wu's 36 Chambers. i would replace Blu & Exile for The Wu. but i love Blu & Exile. RL_GMA 02-04-2009, 10:23 AM 9th Wonder's Remix Version of God Son > Original God Son I liked Stillmatic a lot better than God Son, but God Son was a good album nonetheless Tuggers1986 02-04-2009, 12:40 PM you keep mentioning this blu and exile, i HAVE to check them out You want me to upload it for you? black.ink 02-04-2009, 01:30 PM I think it's on par with Stillmatic. If you consider Stillmatic a classic, God Son should be also. These two albums were the perfect one-two combo to pick his career up after dropping two average albums, although i personally think I am... is a great album. Floyd Sinclair 02-04-2009, 02:28 PM Its tough for me to say...I guess I would say no, but its very close. illmatic - 5/5 it was written - 5/5 I Am - 4.5/5 Nastradamus - 5/5 The Lost Tapes - 4.5/5 Stillmatic - 5/5 Gods Son - 4.5/5 Streets Disciple - 4/5 Hip Hop Is Dead - 4.5/5 Untitled - 5/5 Thats 5 classics, in my opinion. Truth 02-04-2009, 11:13 PM honestly if GodzHand says its a classic...it makes me wonder if it really is one. Although I often don't agree with GodzHand, I respect his opinions alot. -EX- 02-05-2009, 11:25 AM I don't think it was a classic but it was good. I think Stillmatic cud be a classic. Kobe Bryant 02-05-2009, 11:27 AM No it wasn't a classic. But I love that track Heaven. Real deep joint right there. Get Down is classic/vintage Nas story tellin. |
