View Full Version : See, Eminem I love and he's lyrical..... VERSATILE2K10 02-01-2009, 11:28 PM Soo it's not that I don't like lyrical ppl it's just a lot of them have the same boring ass style. Like NAS. If he changed his shit up while still being lyrical I wouldn't have a issue. VERSATILE2K10 02-01-2009, 11:30 PM Also Pac and Biggie. I love Biggie, he had different style with his flow. MegStarr* 02-01-2009, 11:39 PM Soo it's not that I don't like lyrical ppl it's just a lot of them have the same boring ass style. Like NAS. If he changed his shit up while still being lyrical I wouldn't have a issue. i find it difficult to understand how Nas is "boring" to you. that's a crazy concept to me...Nas being boring... What do you find boring about him? How does he not change up his style? he has ****ed with tons of different types of production styles... Dice 02-02-2009, 12:17 AM Yo Verse I seriously think you got Nas whole collection fam cuz you just cant keep his name off ya mind, you seriously are starting to look like these Boxingscene dudes are on Wayne, say you dont like them but cant stop talkin about them billionaire 02-02-2009, 12:22 AM your just not intelligent enough to understand nas......read a book or something you cant live you life as an ignorant MegStarr* 02-02-2009, 12:24 AM your just not intelligent enough to understand nas......read a book or something you cant live you life as an ignorant well remember that it is also just a matter of taste though... like i can appreciate Cormega and i know that he's mad lyrical, but i do find him to be somewhat boring. i think that how entertained you are by certain artists depends more on the production than the lyrics. maybe he thinks Nas' production is boring. but i don't really understand that. GodzHand 02-02-2009, 12:26 AM i'm sure it may have something to do with the fact that whenever anyone scrutinizes someone from the south, Nas is always used in the arguement against said southern rapper. billionaire 02-02-2009, 12:31 AM well remember that it is also just a matter of taste though... like i can appreciate Cormega and i know that he's mad lyrical, but i do find him to be somewhat boring. i think that how entertained you are by certain artists depends more on the production than the lyrics. maybe he thinks Nas' production is boring. but i don't really understand that. i like cormega but lyrics dont neccessarily equate to intelligent listeners......cormegas good lines are mostly about life or sports.....you have to be intelligent to understand nas lines about hierogylphs...clearly the said listener has had training in ultrasound communication MegStarr* 02-02-2009, 12:36 AM i like cormega but lyrics dont neccessarily equate to intelligent listeners......cormegas good lines are mostly about life or sports.....you have to be intelligent to understand nas lines about hierogylphs...clearly the said listener has had training in ultrasound communication Nas is an all time great, in my opinion. Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 12:37 AM Vers, you don't like Illmatic? VERSATILE2K10 02-02-2009, 12:44 AM Vers, you don't like Illmatic? No. I mean I like about 5 of Nas's songs I just not care for him overall. Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 12:44 AM we shouldn't call people not intelligent if they don't like Nas. Its a matter of taste... Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 12:45 AM No. I mean I like about 5 of Nas's songs I just not care for him overall. what are those songs? MegStarr* 02-02-2009, 12:46 AM well Billionaire can say whatever he wants. it is a bit of a contradiction to make such an ignorant statement yourself when calling someone else ignorant though... ironic. Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 12:48 AM well Billionaire can say whatever he wants. it is a bit of a contradiction to make such an ignorant statement yourself when calling someone else ignorant though... ironic. I never said he couldn't say whatever he wanted. I'm just saying that not right to call someone stupid for not liking Nas. Music is a matter of tastes. VERSATILE2K10 02-02-2009, 12:50 AM what are those songs? If I Ruled The World - (ft. Lauryn Hill) Hate Me Now - (ft. Puff Daddy) Ether One Mic Got UR Self A.... Also him on Hot boys. MegStarr* 02-02-2009, 12:50 AM I never said he couldn't say whatever he wanted. I'm just saying that not right to call someone stupid for not liking Nas. I dunno, maybe I should give him another go around... Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 12:55 AM nobodys dumb in this motha****a!!!!!!!!!! MegStarr* 02-02-2009, 12:57 AM I dunno, maybe I should give him another go around... just listen to Illmatic without pressing the "next" button. start to finish. i doubt that it will be hard to do. he has done amazing work on other albums as well but Illmatic is his best work album-wise, in my opinion, and it is a great gateway to appreciating Nas. Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 12:57 AM I dunno, maybe I should give him another go around... Like for me, I like Nas's old school new york sound. you know what i'm saying? that might just not be your thing. just like for the most part the west coast and southern sound isn't really my thing. I mean I like Outkast, TI. But overall I'm more of a New York rap fan. But its good to keep an open mind. If you have some free time, maybe throw on Illmatic and give it another shot... MegStarr* 02-02-2009, 01:03 AM I'll check it out again... Maybe I just passed it up when I had it before. it is definitely possible i mean i remember for myself even, there were certain albums that i listened to back when i was first getting into hip hop that i wrote off as albums that i didn't like or wasn't interested in. but i truly believe that your taste changes and grows as it develops. there are certain artists that will never appeal to you, but i can guarantee that there are also plenty who you would be crazy about if you were to give them a second chance. like Atmosphere is a good example for me. when i was first getting into hip hop someone gave me GodLovesUgly and i just skimmed through it not really feeling any of it. a few years later, after i had been exposed to more and gotten a little more into hip hop i came across it and realized that it was a great album that i was totally into. sometimes you just aren't ready for certain artists or albums. Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 01:04 AM yeah i would have never listened to pete rock 4 years ago. now i like him. you grow fo sho Mr. Mef 02-02-2009, 01:07 AM verse, are feeling the growth in the air?...i bet tommorow you'll be listening illmatic, it was written...etc. :D VERSATILE2K10 02-02-2009, 01:11 AM it is definitely possible i mean i remember for myself even, there were certain albums that i listened to back when i was first getting into hip hop that i wrote off as albums that i didn't like or wasn't interested in. but i truly believe that your taste changes and grows as it develops. there are certain artists that will never appeal to you, but i can guarantee that there are also plenty who you would be crazy about if you were to give them a second chance. like Atmosphere is a good example for me. when i was first getting into hip hop someone gave me GodLovesUgly and i just skimmed through it not really feeling any of it. a few years later, after i had been exposed to more and gotten a little more into hip hop i came across it and realized that it was a great album that i was totally into. sometimes you just aren't ready for certain artists or albums.
