i think that how entertained you are by certain artists depends more on the production than the lyrics. maybe he thinks Nas' production is boring. but i don't really understand that.

i'm sure it may have something to do with the fact that whenever anyone scrutinizes someone from the south, Nas is always used in the arguement against said southern rapper.

i like cormega but lyrics dont neccessarily equate to intelligent listeners......cormegas good lines are mostly about life or sports.....you have to be intelligent to understand nas lines about hierogylphs...clearly the said listener has had training in ultrasound communication

that might just not be your thing. just like for the most part the west coast and southern sound isn't really my thing. I mean I like Outkast, TI. But overall I'm more of a New York rap fan.

i mean i remember for myself even, there were certain albums that i listened to back when i was first getting into hip hop that i wrote off as albums that i didn't like or wasn't interested in. but i truly believe that your taste changes and grows as it develops. there are certain artists that will never appeal to you, but i can guarantee that there are also plenty who you would be crazy about if you were to give them a second chance. like Atmosphere is a good example for me. when i was first getting into hip hop someone gave me GodLovesUgly and i just skimmed through it not really feeling any of it. a few years later, after i had been exposed to more and gotten a little more into hip hop i came across it and realized that it was a great album that i was totally into. sometimes you just aren't ready for certain artists or albums.
