Who would Win???? Pretty Boy Floyd vs Pernell Sweet Pea, both in their prime???? Its very close as both are great defensive fighters. I may have to give the edge to Mayweather... What do you guys think????

I think that Whitaker would use his southpaw jab and stance, his exceptional footwork and his high punch output to win a decision over Floyd.

I picked Floyd, but now looking back I agree his southpaw stance might cause some huge problems. Then again Floyd might be to quick.

Floyd is a great Super featherweight who fought some big names at higher weights, Sweet Pea is a great welterweight.

At welterweight Sweet pea destroys Floyd.

WTF? When has Sweet Pea been a destoryer, and whens the last time Floyd's been destroyed? Floyd by split decision in a fast paced technical fight.

Sweat Pea. The man was almost impossible to hit. The Julio Cesar Chavez showed just how good he was (and what a dodgy decision!)

Great matchup, two clever, fast, skilled fighters. Too close to call really, but if I have to pick one I would go with Mayweather in a cloooose fight.

sweet pea wins cuz his southpaw stance would give mayweather fits..plus pernell had great hand speed also and his defense was just as good if not greater than floyd's:wow:

Maybe for a different thread, but where would you put sweet pea on the all time list?

Too close to call. If they fought 10 times, it would be ten split decisions. A very technical fight with great defense. Each fight would be some controversy because it would be too close to call

I chose Parnell with sweetpea clowning with him in the second half of the fight with a boxing clinic only to be robed in the desision

personally, between 10 and 20 somewhere

i dunno if people with a more extensive knowledge on the older fighters might feel that was a bit high though

I'd definitely have him in the top 20 somewhere.

I chose Mayweather, only because I don't believe draws should be an option, and I think he is as techniquely sound as Whitaker but with a bit more power. Now, like most of you I do believe this fight is just too close to call. But with Floyd Sr training him, and his ability to fight inside and out, I give slight edge to Mayweather.
