...cuz i have a problem...ok i have several problems but this is just the main one right now...

few months ago my ex put a air/fuel ratio guage in my car...i hated it...didn't do much, just looked pretty. so i made him take it out. after that for like the first 3 or 4 months my check engine light would come on...mainly when i was in stop and go traffic, on the interstate it was fine. but for the past couple months it hasn't come on im just getting ****ty gas mileage.

i know he had to tap into the o2 sensor somehow...thing is could it just be unplugged or do i need to get another one? or could it be something else entirely?

i was getting like 36 mpg and now its hella ****ty...im a broke college student...i cant afford gas anymore.... :(

Computer is getting confused...The ECM computer that is the heart of your engines electronic system uses an Oxygen sensor (o2) to monitor the exhaust gasses. It is constantly checking and adjusting the Air/Fuel mixture for good performance and low emissions. For a completely stock car there is no need to mess with anything as the ECM will make sure your car is running the best it can no matter the conditions, however once you begin to add performance parts to your car the computer begins to get confused.

i posted a question about this on Honda-Tech.com and they're telling me to just have the sensor replaced but i'd seriously rather not do that, those suckers are expensive.

when my ex husband put a higher gear ratio on his car, the check engine light would come on,too. he had to take the battery out, then out it back and recharge it, but it would only last a couple of months.

check engine lights suck...i've grown a special kind of hatred for mine.

yea, that makes more sense. only bad thing is i have a feeling im going to have to take it to the honda dealership because i live in an area where all you see is mustangs and jacked up trucks...and honda likes to rape their customers. they'd probably charge me out the ass just to check it out.

Its the same thing that happens to those jacked up mustangs when they put performance parts on them.

Yeah I would get the computer checked but ****ty gas milage and CE light almost always means you need new O2 sensors.

Pour a little bit of sugar in the gas tank, that will fix it right up.

argh, i really dont want to hear that...stoopid ass ex's...its all his fault. my car was fine before he started messing with it.

on top of that...im hearing this weird vibrating kind of noise when its in neutral...when u push the clutch in it goes away, but once you get to around 3,000 rpms it starts again and is really loud but it only does this in 1-3rd gear. i've heard everything from i may need to have the entire clutch replaced...to having just the throw out bearing replaced..to it possibly just being the heat shield to my exhaust loose and rattling.

then theres the whole problem w/my wheel falling off a couple months ago and breaking 2 stud bolts....

perhaps i just need a new car?

Perhaps, but the O2 sensors should be an easy fix especially on a Honda.
