View Full Version : Liddell vs Rua UFC 98 cusd'amatokid 01-29-2009, 05:00 PM who you picking, fight has been confirmed MJ406 01-29-2009, 05:12 PM who you picking, fight has been confirmed its actually gonna be at UFC 97 in April SalvaDominicano 01-29-2009, 05:14 PM This is just to make Liddell look good and give everyone a reason to believe he should be in there with the best again. Rua isnt gonna do jack ****. Mozza 01-29-2009, 05:16 PM Could go either way. Neither has done anything recently to warrant being a clear favourite. The octagon favours Liddell however age favours Shogun. American_Ninja 01-29-2009, 07:33 PM Anyone see Shoguns last fight? Awful..... Both may be at the same awful level. YUHHHHHHH! 01-29-2009, 11:51 PM Granted Liddell has been on a slope - Or fallen off of a cliff rather, he still has the speed of a 50 year old man. Compare that with Rua, who apparently now has the speed AND cardio of an 80 year old man, (An 80 year old man who has lived in the city, worked at a coal factory and smoked 5 cartons of cigarettes a week since he was born) Rua will get KTFO quick. That is unless he works on something. Dice 01-29-2009, 11:55 PM If shogun returns to form, Shogun, if Shogun doesnt return to form, probably shogun again lol. Chuck is a hard hitter but he cant take a shot and four of his six losses have come from ko's. Shogun has been in there with some hard hitters like Coleman, Rampage and Overeem and has only been submitted. He REALLY needs to work on his cardio if he wants to perform against the top tier LHW's Live Dog 01-30-2009, 12:11 AM If shogun returns to form, Shogun, if Shogun doesnt return to form, probably shogun again lol. Sure he's been stopped 4 times but 2 of those he got beat down over a long period of time and the other two were great shots from two of the hardest hitters in MMA. That shot from Rashad especially would have put anyone away. JabSandwich 01-30-2009, 04:40 AM Shogun if he improves his conditioning and Chuck if he doesn't jakkups 01-30-2009, 08:48 AM Chuck for me, jury's still out on Shogun but he is very Wanderlei like in his style, only he is younger with more energy but he is still sloppy. Chuck's problem wasn't that he was getting any worse, I mean he's been using the same style for years now, only difference is he doesn't rely on his kicks as much if at all anymore. His problem is that everyone else around him was stepping up their game and he was and has been coasting. I think Chuck should start to use his wrestling alot more and work ground and pound. It's a part of his game which is top notch and could be something that catches his opponents off guard. |
