I'm a big fan of Anderson Silva and I've seen him from the beginning of his career but I don't think he is at the level of Fedor.

I personally think his performance against Mirko "CroCop" Filipovic years ago was his best ever. He was able to outstrike the striker, not necessarily because he was better on his feet but because he was able to make CroCop wary of both strikes and takedowns and exposed Mirko's one-dimensional approach to MMA.

Take into account this scenario for the Fedor - Arlovski fight. I feel that Fedor at first was testing out Andre's stand up game, and he didn't like it very much. He hasn't been known to be hurt by bodk kicks or anything of the like, I feel he baited Andre in when he backed to the ropes, knowing Andre is a very aggressive fighter and that he would jump right in to try and finish. Fedor has been known to go in with no strict game plan, and adjusts to his opponents as the fight goes on.

Of course, I don't know if this was the actual scenario, could have just been a lucky shot for all I know.

Fedor doesn't really take much punishment. Only Fujita, Randleman and Crocop hurt him in anyway. Comparing the career stats of top level fighters, the only fighter who takes less strikes than Fedor is Machida.
