View Full Version : Tito Ortiz puts his foot in his mouth
Live Dog 01-26-2009, 09:46 PM So here are the lines that I remember Tito messing up Sat night....
When trying to comment on how impressive Vitor was at 185 he instead combined it with his age and said something like Vitor sure looks impressive at 131 yrs old.
During the post fight interview he told Fedor "Let me tell you how you feel right now" and then pointed the mic towards Fedor as if he had just asked him a question.
What else did you guys catch?
To be honest I was enjoying the fights.
I wasn't scrutinizing everything that blabbermouth toehead said.

1) The comments were in between fights.
2) Thanks for your contribution.
Spare Moody 01-26-2009, 10:20 PM i can't remember anything he said in particular but he definetely sounded like ****. he's with Affliction now and my guess is that they're trying to use him to the best of their ability until he fights. sometimes you get a fighter who's got that charismatic personality that draws attention to his cards, regardless of performance, but then sounds like a total retard as a commentator. take Frank Shamrock or Tito for example.
then you get fighters like Bas and Rampage that are great in both fields.
-MAKAVELLI- 01-26-2009, 10:31 PM oh yea...i remember the 'let me tell you how you feel right now' comment to fedor
and when he called him buddy, that made me cringe....please take the mic away from that guy
ABOSWORTH 01-26-2009, 11:56 PM :lol1: That's funny. I didn't see that but did you guys notice how he kept pronouncing Fedor's name Fee- a-door? My friend and I were laughing about that.
Almost like Theodore, Feodore.

Wow...I had forgotten about that...
OH yeah one more.....When addressing Babalu after the fight I believe he was trying to say that Babalu was one of the best LHW's in the world and instead called him "one of the best LHW's of the night". Wasn't Babalu's the only LHW match of the night????

I agree and I actually like Tito. He's got a personality and he can actually fight.
Bas is great and I like Mir with the WEC.
Left Hook Tua 01-27-2009, 02:06 AM vitor belfort is a joke.
a lot of those carlson gracie guys are not very good.
carlson liked to grab the physically impressive fighters.
tito was a bad ass in his day. remember the "gay mezger is my *****"? lol
too bad he's shot.

he wore t-shirts. most fighter's have fights that prove they were good back in the days. besides the Evan Tanner slam, i never saw Tito do anything impressive.

guy mezger and jerry bohlander were very good in their day.
remember tito was not from the era of multi-dimensional mma fighters.
there was not many muay thai/kickboxing champion , all-american wrestler , brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt all-in-one fighters back then.
he was also able to utilize ufc rules into beating a young wanderlei silva (though he almost got ktfo)
tito is too underrated. he had good wrestling skills and great stamina in his youth.

Mir is really great with WEC. I think he's my favorite MMA announcer currently. When he retires I really hope he sticks with announcing. He is a smart guy and obviously knows a hell of a lot about the sport.
Have you ever heard Kenny Florian as an announcer? He's really damn good as well. Another smart cat that guy is. I'd like to see more commentating from him as well.
jakkups 01-27-2009, 11:33 AM Fight Professor Stephen Quadros is pretty damn good too. Knows what he's talking about and gives the viewer the benefit of the doubt that they might not be a total retard and can figure stuff out for themselves.

Stephen Quadros' resume is so vast.

Cuauhtémoc1502 01-27-2009, 01:24 PM Tito? What do you expect from a guy that's in love with the biggest hooker ever. Still thinking about that is nasty, I mean, the woman you love and are having a child with has sucked ever *** in the continental united states.
Great for their kids when they get old when they ask, "So what were you like mommy when you were young?"

:lol1: Well put.
I didn't know you were from Miami. I was just down there a couple of weeks ago on vacation to check out the Tattoo convention. My girl is a tattoo artist. She didn't get a booth, we just went down to check it out. It was like 80-85 degrees and I came back home to -35 degree weather.
BUuuuuurrrrrrr..

Hear hear, also Tito is probably in his first relationship where his partner has taken more shots to the face than he has.

Actually, in Russain neighbour of mine says that the name Fedor would be pronounced as "Fear Door" and not as "Fay Door".
So, Otiz's Fee-a-door would be closer to correct, if you really wanted to say the man's name correctly.

Interesting. I actually just searched around and apparently, Fedor himself pronounced it just as Ortiz did. FeeOdoor.
