Even the Pope said, "It's as it was." nickeboy 01-30-2004, 01:25 PM The movie is in sub-titles right?? Wushu 01-30-2004, 01:30 PM I can't wait to see it either The Mouse 01-30-2004, 01:30 PM Yes.. most people can't understand Armaic so it's in subtitles. nickeboy 01-30-2004, 01:32 PM I want to get an armaic tatoo on my tricep Bluecifer 01-30-2004, 01:34 PM I wanna get one on my frenelum. The Mouse 01-30-2004, 01:42 PM My two best friends are hardcore atheistic, pisses me off. Was just talking to them about this movie and they were telling me how boring it’s going to be because, “It didn’t really happen, and even if it did then Jesus was just an everyday man and not the son of God.” Felt like ripping his heart out of his chest Indian-Jones-style. Billy Grahm cried when he saw the prescreening, … depends on your faith what you get out of it I guess. Purity 01-30-2004, 01:47 PM mel gibson personally invited my pastor to watch it with him & get his opinion. rick now HIGHLY recommends it. he actually had 7 entire theaters in orange county completely reserved for church members to see it a day before it's officially released. nickeboy 01-30-2004, 01:51 PM faith is a very intense and delicate issue to discuss Bluecifer 01-30-2004, 01:53 PM Originally posted by nickeboy9 faith is a very intense and delicate issue to discuss So's my frenelum. If you won the lottery(lottery =heaven, faith, all that stuff) and someone said they thought there was no lottery or that it's going to suck would still want to rip there heart out of there chest(NOT cristianlike BTW)? Why? nickeboy 01-30-2004, 01:58 PM Originally posted by Blue Dawg So's my frenelum. word of the day: Frenelum Bluecifer 01-30-2004, 02:04 PM I'm a sensitive man, especially on my frenelum. Frenelum. If she plays Virgin Mary there no chance for her to come out butt naked. nickeboy 01-30-2004, 02:52 PM I don't know she manages to get naked someway or another in most of her movies... Nuno 01-30-2004, 03:00 PM Good argument guys.... The Mouse 01-30-2004, 04:02 PM Vulger, how in the hell do you come up with the argument that it is anti-semitic? If you have a problem with accuracy, or the brutality and truth of this movie, maybe you should stick to Disneyland fictional movies rather than this true documentary-type movie about the son of God that died for you. Leather 02-01-2004, 05:26 PM Originally posted by Mouse ....about the son of God that died for you. HA!! The most pathetic lie ever...If he died, he didn't make this for us (at least for me). These religion threads (well it's about a film, of course) are the worst in the net. I remember a sentence I said when I was a bit high (if you understand spanish ok, if not, sorry, **** you or ask Mr Bub to translate it), a drunk friend said: "La paz del señor esté siempre con nosotros..." (a typical church sentence) and then I added: "aunque Él se esfuerce en quitárnosla".That's all, think about it... Mel gibson is of a smaller sect of catholics that still believe that jews killed jesus/run the media/the world etc.... when its well known that the romans killed jesus etc.... from the articles i have read about this film i came to that conclusion. as for the son of god dieing before me ....well...... no Tom 02-02-2004, 11:55 AM Originally posted by Mouse Vulger, how in the hell do you come up with the argument that it is anti-semitic? The Golden Bear 02-02-2004, 12:53 PM The Facts: The Phariseses and the Sanheadrin - Jewish elite class, and temple priests - wanted Jesus of Nazareth dead. Judea, being a principate of the Roman empire, Roman law was the only (human)law that was binding. If the priesthood and the elite wanted to kill Jesus, the only legal method for doing this was to have the Romans do the deed. The elite of Judea were in the pockets of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate. The two had an agreement and they used each other to do thins. 1) Keep law and order in Judea, in the case of the Romans and 2) Keep the status quoe and the conservative Jewish elite in power, in the case of the Jews. the elite wanted Jesus dead, the Romans wanted an air of law. BOOM. Kill jesus for not paying taxes - Both parties happy. Yes the Romans killed Jesus, but the Jewish elite wanted it done and set things in motion. Just trying to be fair and truthfull. The Golden Bear 02-02-2004, 12:56 PM I do wana see this flick tho.. handjobs4dollars 02-02-2004, 01:01 PM Yo jesus is jewish. Don't you mother ****ers know that ****. The Golden Bear 02-02-2004, 01:03 PM no **** Gman... no ****. Did all the jews meet in one place and all kill him together? The Golden Bear 02-02-2004, 01:07 PM Read this agian Gman and talk to me when you have finished it, Originally posted by The Golden Bear The Facts: The Phariseses and the Sanheadrin - Jewish elite class, and temple priests - wanted Jesus of Nazareth dead. The Golden Bear 02-02-2004, 01:15 PM Yes it can be grant, that is why i am saying it. There is far to many lies told in the name of religion that what is the current belief - is all a lie. It is not the clergy that is saying what i am saying - they lie. It is historians and theologens that have found the real story. and besides - i am a man of truth, i would not lie to you guys about such a serious topic. handjobs4dollars 02-02-2004, 01:17 PM Yes but it depends of what theory of history you are coming from. Western, markism etc? The Golden Bear 02-03-2004, 06:48 PM stop it gman, i am right and you don't know ****. Purity 02-03-2004, 07:37 PM Originally posted by The Golden Bear the elite wanted Jesus dead, the Romans wanted an air of law. BOOM. Kill jesus for not paying taxes - Both parties happy. they imprisoned him for supposedly stirring up trouble by claiming that he was the king of the jews. pilot didn't want to crucify him because he knew that there was no justifiable reason to. the jewish leaders, however, knew of a law that they could manipulate. an agreement that they could basically trade prisoners. they made pilot set free a prisoner sentenced for death in exchange for Jesus' crucifixion. rather the opposite, when questioned about whether his followers should or shouldn't pay taxes, Jesus said to "give to caesar what is caesars." The Golden Bear 02-03-2004, 07:45 PM tony is right. but the point is that the jewish elite wanted jesus dead. And the romans did it. But tony - did jesuas say "pay taxes" or "dont pay taxes?" Purity 02-03-2004, 07:50 PM he didn't say either of those quotes. from what i recall, people were asking him if it was fair that they were being taxed and should give the money to God instead. he replied by saying to give to caesar what is caesar's but to give to God what is God's. in other words, continue to tithe but not by cheating the system. numerous passages in the Bible from not only Jesus himself but also paul, peter, james, and john instruct the christian follower to always submit to authorities. even if they're being treated unfair because God will eventually set everything straight in the end The Golden Bear 02-03-2004, 08:02 PM thanks for the info tony. that line has always been a topic of debate with people. Purity 02-03-2004, 08:19 PM no prob mang. lemme know anytime you got questions and stuff. |
