It seems like hes just about fell the **** off now....Carter 3 cant **** with Carter 2, and his new single off his rock album was complete trash. But at one point lil wayne could rhyme, he had a great flow, and he made music that you can feel...or at least i can feel.

I ignored all his music until 2007. I never really liked southern rap except outkast and the first nappy roots cd...and about 25 to 30 songs by Scarface. But when an friend that i grew up with whos a real hip hop head (and a huge wu-tang stan) (truth, you know who im talkin about) told me lil wayne was real nice, i had to start listening.

It took a while but I got into his music and realized that this....uh...***git is worthy of respect. I dont like gay people, i dont support him kissing Baby but Im all about the music and Lil Wayne at one point made great music. Check this freestyles out, his flow was nothin short of flawless at this point

I've always been a fan of Wayne's music the only albums I didn't like from him were 500 Degrees(cause he was taking shots at Juve) and Carter III(cause it sounded like he tried making a NY album; instead of keeping it southern)

Good thread, Gold Mac. Judging by the songs you posted, I see what your saying about Wayne being much better than he is now. I think hes just gotten too strange latley, he need to go back to what he was doing. Similar to what Eminem needs to do...

I thought about it and I've probably been too hard on wayne in terms of him fallin off (no homo). Most rappers dont sound as lyrical as they did even a couple years ago, but at the same time I think that purple that hes sippin is part of why hes not what he was...but hes going real commercial, trying to make all the money while he can too.

lil wayne back in 1998...I believe he was only 15 back then. His voice sounded alot different.

^sometimes i still have to do a double take with wayne...to be honest i never thought he would become as a big of a star as he has.

I give him alot of credit.

I remember when this song dropped, i never thought this guy would takeover the rap game....he was better in 98/99 then he is now
