Jay-Z and Jeezy do that black president rap, and people like Bill O'Reilly start attacking it. Rap is music, rap is entertainment. Its not classy the majority of the time. Its not a genre of good character, the majority of the time. It not intelligent, the majority of the time. Not to say it never is, but you know what I mean.

But the thing that bothers me is that it is not suppose to be all those things. And honestly if it was, it would probably be boring. When I'm in my car I don't want the tale of the intellectual playing. I listen to that every day in college. So its annoying that people seem to hold hip hop to that standard, like its wrong for being the way it is. In a perfect world, it is wrong, but we don't live in one. Its entertainment for young people, just as rock and metal are. And if were going attack hip hop artists for being classless, lets also attack rock groups, metal groups etc. Last time I checked Slipknot is not a group of saints.

but the overall point of the thread is, it isn't suppose to be. Any youthful(secular) genre isn't suppose to be. Its MUSIC, a form of entertainment. And in many instances what is entertaining isn't of good character. lol

And don't get me wrong. If you can say something positive in your songs, and something intelligent in your songs.....thats great

But people shouldn't act like music is suppose to be the instrument of intelligence and class. lol

Thats the job of teachers, parents, priests and politicians.


But like I said, theres nothing wrong with making positive, intelligent music. I think its great when DMX makes his christian songs. And I think its great when Nas talks about history sometimes. Thats good, but people like Bill O'Reilly shouldn't judge rap like it suppose to be the bearer of class.

They make a big deal about it becuase it came off kind of racist. Plus Jay was linked to Obama. So it makes people think that Obama is linked to racists. But Fox always tries to flip **** anyway. They are a pretty racist station.

I don't think Jay-Z is racist though, he has alot of white friends. Hes close friends with Chris Martin(coldplay) and Gwenoth Paltrow.

They don't know rap or its culture so they're clueless. I don't even bother hearing their opinion on certain rappers. But really who cares wat Fox says anyway? They were ****tin on Obama the whole way.

As far as Jay and Jeezy go I think it was them more trying to **** on Bush and his crew than racist. Obama's color of skin was obviously brought up cuz its history in the making.
