Shall we appreciate Pete Rock & CL Smooth??
i say, we shall!
easily one of my favorite groups, this duo has done a lot for me on a number of levels. Pete Rock is one of my favorite producers of all time, and the way CL lyrically rides his beats is incomparable to most groups with very few exceptions. Very very few. CLs solo efforts have been disappointing but he undoubtedly proved his greatness when he was partnered with Pete. I absolutely love this group. Pete Rock & CL forever, baby! (not really cuz they broke up, but in my mind, absolutely!) and might i also add that The Main Ingredient is one of my favorite albums of all time...

My favorite track on that album was called "The Boss" I think. Absurd instrumental;

i got to get my hands on "The Main Ingredient", it was one of JDilla's favorties.

There may be a couple of Hip Hop acts i like a little better, but if someone unfamiliar with Hip Hop asked me to hear some music that embodies what Hip Hop is, I would give them a Nice and Smooth album rather than any other Hip Hop album.

honestly you have probably heard him before and just not known it was him. don't be embarrassed. at least you know who he is now, and it can really only go uphill from here because he is an absolute genius. pete rock actually did a remix CD of Jay Z tracks that you would probably enjoy.

I like what I'm hearing. I like the smooth/jazzy sound in the beats. and hes actually a very good rapper too.

i have Petestrumentals. i'm sorry it wasn't given back to you. i hate it when i go out on a limb for the sake of spreading good music to a friend and they don't return the CD or they **** it up. a lot of people don't understand the value of a good ablum...it's a sick CD. i love Pete Rock. your choice tracks are boom.
