He say that they are all true but that the answer they gave are opinion and that in greece it was common pratice compared to today. He says that you did not give truths to prove your point.

So I raise me hand and I say that the purpose of sex is the reproduction of the human race and since pedophilia doesn't do that it's wrong. It goes against something we all know is true.

He then say that you have to be a from a religious stand point for that to be true and it comes from the opinion of a authority figure.
Some would argue that sex is for felling good and relax.

I then added that those feelings are ment to encourage humans to have sex.

He then says that it's going to starts a big debate and say that class is over.

Is it just me or does ****ing not result in the human race reproducing?

through a biological point of view then you are correct. through a religious point of view then sex is looked at as a means to reproduce and also to gain pleasure AS LONG as the 2 of you are married.

i don't really dig how he cited sex with children to state his point. anyone who defends that should be punched. and if he wants to say that it's a matter of opinion on whether it's right or wrong then i'm pretty sure some very factual statistics on children who have vs. children who haven't been molested could prove him wrong. kids who are molested will ALWAYS have some severe skeltons in their closet. not to mention that statistics also show that offenders were also molested/raped when they were children so that's a double cosequence.

it may have been accepted in greece but that was before we had the technology (nor the care) to study the effects of certain actions upon children. back then women, children, and slaves were just as important as livestock. even if it WAS completely physically healthy (which is impossible to proove) it was a completely different time and we can easily proove that ****ing children is not a healthy thing for to do for the offender & offendee in modern time.

hmmm..i've always wondered...whose to say that everyone sees the same colors. not taking into consideration people that are color blind but what if i look at a color and someone else looks at a color...we were both taught that this color was say blue...but what if the color i saw was really red but because i was always taught that that color was called blue, i didn't know any better. but if someone could see what i was seeing they would say it was red.

the sky really could be green or red or purple...everyone could be seeing it differently but maybe one persons red is another persons blue but we all call it the same because thats how we learned it.

now my head hurts...

The color thing though, everyone essentially sees the same colors. Why? Because almost everyone's eyes process light waves the same way, so the blue you see is the norm for most people. There are a few that are color blind, etc. Whether someone ****ed with you when you were younger and taught you the socially accepted 'blue' was red, as they say, a rose by another name.

Try and reword it

sex has a primary purpose it is made for the survival of the speices through reproduction, secondary benefits are that it does feel good and can be sold etc...etc.

Philospohy is the seacrh for turth. We were discussing plato's vies on reality vs. persception. The whole point was to use plato's divided line to prove your point. It's that diagram that I posted on the first page. I used reasoning to justify my point. If everybody in the world stopped having sex we would die out right?
