I bought this dvd, Meth live from the sunset strip. It was a great concert, Meth's energy is out of this world. I recommend it to any wu-tang/method man fan, it was fun.

yeah of all the rap acts that i've seen live Method Man was probably the best performer, but don't quote me on that because i havn't really given it that much thought...but i'm pretty sure i mean it! he really is such an outrageous performer. when he is on stage it is difficult to pay attention to anyone else. i saw him with Redman a few months ago and about a year ago on his own and both performances were bananas. the only problem was that he used the same gimmicks two years in a row so it wasn't too special for those of us who attended both shows, but performance wise, it was still a hype show.

did he do that thing...nobody and i mean nobody rock a stage like me!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

I'd love to see meth live, he makes it personal with the fans. you can tell he enjoys putting on a great show. where some rappers probably don't care.

oh yeah of course he did that!
he also did a water fight. which i ducked hard for because i was NOT EVEN trying to get my hair wet (yeah i know i'm a sissy but you've gotta go to a hip hop show looking fresh...haha, it's out of respect!) and a fat ODB tribute in which ODB's son came out on stage and we all went bonkers to BK Zoo.

ive seen meth live, and he def ranks up there as far as the shows ive seen.. common puts on a great show, mos def was great....snoop always good. masta ace did his entire long hot summer album, he was probably the best bang for buck... his set is really long( in a good way), took requests and got the crowd involved. as far as method man goes, dude will jump off of anything.... and he stands on your hands..

i am envious of you. i would love to see Masta Ace live. i would absolutely LOVE it. all of eMC came to Toronto 2 summers ago but i couldn't make it to the show because i had to work. my boyfriend at the time got me a signed t-shirt but it just wasn't the same!!! (as i'm sure you can imagine...) but yeah anyways, bottom line, i am jealous as **** of that experience.
i agree that Mos Def and Common put on good shows as well, although i saw Common somewhat recently and he did so much new material that i was kind of disappointed. but that always happens. gotta promote promote promote the new albums. gotta make that paper...
my only complaint about Mos Def was that he didn't do Ms.Fat Booty!!! he said peace to everyone and dipped off the stage and my boy wouldn't even leave the venue he was so cheesed. he kept saying, "Nah, man, he's not done yet...he's coming back for an encore...ms.fat booty!" haha...it was actually sad.
i understand artists having to do new material but when people go to shows, what they really want deep down is what they've been bumping for years. that's most of what i appreciated so much about Nas. he literally did every single track from Illmatic. he knew that was what we all wanted. at the end of the day, i would have to say that his show was my favorite.

when i saw ace is was at a small venue as well, it was great in terms of atmosphere. emc wasnt there but he did bring wordsworth, who can freestlye with the best. i didnt manage to get a signed shirt but he did sign my cd, which was dope. overall it was one of the better concerts ive been to.... funny that you mention nas, he too puts on a great show...only complaint was sometimes he'd forget a lyric or perform like a snippet of a song. which was fine except he did like 30 seconds of the message which is prob my favorite song by him.

smaller venues are always better. the more intimate, the better, in my opinion. the energy is different. wordsworth is a sick MC, that's hype that he made it out too. i have heard about nas forgetting lyrics before, it must be something that he does on a regular basis. i did notice that he performed quite a few snippets as well, but i was just grateful that he covered as much material as he did. i remember his performance of the message being short at the show that i attended too. you're absolutely right, i would say that it is definitely one of his best tracks.

Nas is one of my top favs. but hes not a good live performer overall. I have a nas concert dvd. and he just yells too much, and for a nas song, you don't want to hear yelling. like something like memory lane, it doesn't sound good if the person is yellin and all out of breath.

what nas does well live is that he lets his emotions take over, it really works well for songs like one mic... i thought nas show was great to be honest.

thats why i said overall...he does one mic well. and i think hes improved. maybe jay told him to tone down the yelling. because when he went to def jam in 06 his live stuff got better. and jay is one of the best live performers i've seen...

honestly though once an artist gets to be as big as Jay Z i feel as though it is less likely for me to go to a show because the venue is so huge and the tickets become so expensive. i mean there are certain people that i would pay almost any amount for, but i would rather pay that to see them in a more intimate venue then a massive one.
