if you can't appreciate something like this then i can't really comprehend how you could be a true hip hop fan.
this production is mindblowing.
MegStarr* 01-15-2009, 08:03 PM what is this?
they're songs done by a French hip hop producer who calls himself Wax Tailor.
Truth 01-15-2009, 08:03 PM i thought the beats were cool.

Possibly my favorite song of all time.
Truth 01-15-2009, 08:04 PM i could see common rapping over one of those...
MegStarr* 01-15-2009, 08:04 PM Possibly my favorite song of all time.
yes great song...
but that's not what this is about!!!
haha
come on, people!
KESSLER 01-15-2009, 08:04 PM i thought the beats were cool.
That's what stood out the most for me too.
Grand Champ 01-15-2009, 08:05 PM they're songs done by a French hip hop producer who calls himself Wax Tailor.
It's crap.
MegStarr* 01-15-2009, 08:07 PM That's what stood out the most for me too.
yeah that's why i posted them
the vocals are all samples and they're impeccably timed.
Truth 01-15-2009, 08:07 PM 9th wonder would appreciate those...
MegStarr* 01-15-2009, 08:09 PM It's crap.
i knew that these songs would be met with some resistance. of course it's possible that it just simply isn't your style...but try to envision someone rapping over these beats. DJ Shadow is a very famous hip hop dj and there are a lot of parallels between him and Wax Tailor.

Floyd Sinclair 01-15-2009, 08:14 PM im gonna rap over those beats....did Paris rap over them? I used to listen to Paris when i was 17/18...liked a couple of his songs but I couldnt really get into him (no homo).
Grand Champ 01-15-2009, 08:15 PM If Wayne, Common or someone like that threw some decent lines over that thing, yeah it probably could be something.. But that isn't the case, and i'm judging it by what I heard.

i'm sorry that your mind is so narrow.

i'm not sure about that, i'll look into it.
Grand Champ 01-15-2009, 08:25 PM i'm sorry that your mind is so narrow.
I'm narrow minded because I don't think like you eh? **** You
MegStarr* 01-15-2009, 08:34 PM I'm narrow minded because I don't think like you eh? **** You
no, i didn't imply that it had anything to do with you thinking like me specifically.
i think that it is unfortunate that you clearly lack the ability to grasp the full potential of a beat or an unfinished work. it is no wonder to me that you included Lil Wayne in your last post. if he is one of your favorites then i can fully understand why you are not much of a visionary.
Floyd Sinclair 01-15-2009, 08:40 PM I just wrote these lyrics and now im about to spit them over the beat in the 2nd video....
My minds trapped in a desert
I cant stop thinking about what went wrong in the past
Close friends passed away, Another one passed today
Seeing mothers crying, Im trying to keep my head in the clouds
But its dropped to the ground, I stick my chest out and try to act proud
Am I wrong to be fronting? Actin like its nothing
I remember we used to have them pots on the oven
We was in love with the cash we was making
Now Im here today faking, acting like im not upset
But the thruth is I aint ever gonna forget
The time we spent on the corner sellin drugs
We used to be telling young thugs that this life is wrong
Wishin we followed our advice as I write this song
Now my homies life is gone, dogg im going crazy
It always amazed me how we stuck to our routine that was daily
The fiends would pay me, we split the money in half
Never fell for a trap, loyalty and respect we never neglected
I pray one day your soul is resurrected, we had the game perfected
Never made mistakes, now I hate to lose my partner and homie
I wish God would show me how to block shots like a goalie
We slowly grew with our power and our powder
Made at least 10 deals every hour, outside rain pouring like a shower
Clothes soaken wet with water but today they were blood soaked
Another thug smoked over a fiend that loves coke

I remember having Common in that post as well.. What does that make me? Anyway, Lil Wayne was in it because he has been known to use those kind of beats in the past. And not calling me a visionary does nothing to me. You may take pride in calling yourself that, and that is fine. But I'm here to buy not make music so I don't care much for that word.

that's fair.
i also like Common Sense, very much. and know that your defensiveness is quite unnecessary. nothing i've said has meant to be insulting. you don't have to like it. i just think that it would be unfortunate for you to chose to be ignorant to more abstract possibilities in music, specifically hip hop.
