I've been playing it the last couple of weeks and it's the shiznit.

I only have the first one. How's the 1-player on SocomII?

It awesome. I never played the first so I can't compare, but everybody says it's way better.

I read the review in a magazine and it didn't peak my interest enough to warrant a purchase. Socom II got perfect scores from that very same magazine, therefore peaking my interest.

Practice with the socom you got until you buy the new one. Playing online is mad difficult until you get used to it. I got like 250+ headshots right now. I'm currently ranked a Luitenant Commander which is for the top 30% of players....

wars normally consist of minimum 4 on 4 up to 8 on 8

There's always at least 26000 people logged on. They have multiple screennames so the rankings go into the 600,000's.....that what you will be rankes when you start. I'm ranked 220,000 something right now....I was 160,000 before.....

broadband is cable bro. and that ethernet connection... i dont think its needed. by the look from that picture... it looks like it connects to the back of the PS2.

Cable is broadband. You run an ethernet cable from your cable modem to the PS2 Modem and voila, your online...it's alot easier than you think.

You can choose your clan leader, but there is no actual designated leader during gameplay. Alot of the times I shout out ideas to the group, if they like it they will follow. If they know something I don't know , they will inform me.

Communication is a vital part of this game....

Bub sniping from hidden position sees someone trying to run up behind me....he gets on the mic and says "Yo Nuno, there's a cracka on yo ass"
BOOM!! I turn around and blast the fool!!

or...

I see some punk ***** is trying to hide inside a house....I say Dogg throw a grenade, I'll cover you!! BOOM!! One blown up cracka!!

I was talking on the headset, but there were two crackas that wouldn't shut the **** up so I said said **** it I'm going solo. Some of those nerds have crazy skills, there was a sniper killing everybody from a shack and when I was going in there to blast his ass a mine blew me up...They got mad skills.

In a week we will be owning.....you guys just need to get used to the buttons and the levels.....tonight we'll play medley so you guys can see all the levels.....

Which do you think is the best gun? I use the shotgun, but is not as accurate...Also, It looks like the terrorists have better weapons.

Yup, it goes through each level/mission one at a time.....Good way to see all the levels and objectives.....

You used the weaker shotgun though....you have to use the other one which fires much faster....

When I was playing with the terrorists, I picked up a nice shotgun that the seals don't have. I killed a seal with 2 shots.

I need to practice against the machine, and try to beat the game 'cause the way I was getting killed was becoming embarrasing.

I gonna start sheating like a mofo. When we were playing in the Vigiliance place a terrorist walked through a wall and killed me. I'm gonna cheat too, word up.

nullo & bubbles... word and hella WORD. we need to recuit in a few weeks. as for the cheatting... you can't control the other team and the 30,000 users that are playing. its all fair game as far as i'm concerned.

Walk slowly in areas that you know they will place mines. Look down....use night vision if it's dark.....avoid walking over dead bodies or thru bushes in the enimies area......In demolition/breach missions, which require either team to grab a bomb and blow up the other teams base with it, the bomb is sometimes mined.....what does this mean?....let's say I pick up the bomb, get killed, I drop the bomb, a yellow icon appears where I dropped the bomb, before you can get there to get the bomb, the terrorists plant a mine beside it..

What do you do to avoind stepping on mine?

Jump over them, shoot them(with sniper rifle only I think), or the best way is to throw a grenade to set it off? The last one is what you would use if they had planted a mine on the bomb,

There is only one radar. You can't see your teammates on it. Just look around for the names....

The radar is useful for breach/demolition games and excort/extraction games...

yellow dot - indicates where the satchel(bomb) is located.

green/red arrow - indicated that one of the teams has the satchel(bomb). Green(your team) Red (other team)

X - indcates extraction points for your hostage/escort

H - indicates where a hostage/VIP is located

the other random letters are explained during the loading screen(they could be breach point, turret locations, satchel location, etc)

against the Scores of the opponent's team to determine who is 'expected' to
win.
Winning against stronger teams will increase your Score faster while winning
against weaker teams will increase your Score much slower.

Number of Players in the Game: Full 16-player Games have larger Score moves
than say an 8-player Game.

Number of Rounds won by losing team: If you win by a sweep (i.e. winning the
first 6 Rounds in a best of 11 Game), your Score will go up more than if you
just won by one Round (i.e. winning 6 Rounds and losing 5 Rounds in a best
of 11 Game).

Individual Performance: Doing more to contribute to the victory like getting
more Kills, having less Deaths, rescuing Hostages, creating Breaches,
destroying Bases, etc. will result in a larger personal Score increase.

ok. the rank info you posted helps alot in understanding this ****. thanks. no questions on that yet. as far as this post.... thanks, it explains alot about that radar and how everything is viewed. the only question i got right now is.... how do you know you are in enemy territory, how do you locate their base... etc.

10-4. I already printed out the "weapons & equipment" guide.

It's is assigned a letter on the radar....the loading screen tells you where it is. You'll know where everything is after awhile.

I am understanding the radar a little bit better...Whenever we are in a demolition mission there's going to be a yelloy dot in the radar; that's where the bomb is. Once someone picks up the bomb it turns to a triangle (red if the opposite team has it or green if we do) We're supposed to pick up the bomb and plant it in their base.

Do you know how to plant the bomb?

You have to go to the enemy's base and walk that section that has a gren circle around it, and when an icon appears on the bottom of the screenthat says deploy bomb or something, you press X, right?

Yeah, but it could get tricky for two reasons....

1. Do not confuse the drop bomb icon for the demolition icon. The demolition icon is the one you want to press and hold.

2. Even though your in that circle you still have to position yourself correctly to make the demolition icon appear. Move around, look down, do whatever until the icon appears....also when holding the demolition button DO NOT MOVE....it will stop it and you will have to start over again.

Best hand guns are: DE .50, Mark 23, and Model 18.

R3 and L3 are the analog sticks, if you press them they're also buttons.

About the granades button...word, I keep getting killed everytime a open that God damned menu and start looking for the f'n granades.

L1 and L2 are the quick switch buttons between gun and rifle. I think you can set it up to be a grenade instead.....I don"t know how though.

Anolog sticks are the thingies you move your character with...push the left one down and you change the fire rate of your gun(one bullet=single shot, 3 bullets=Burst shot, 4 bullets=Automatic). Push the right one down to reload....

i wish i woulda known that the past few days. that'll help ALOT. expect my kill rate to blow yours away, nunello.

the problem is when we have a bunch of people in our team and everybody has their own strategy. It would be cool if could have only the Smooveseals in one team and develop our own ****. maaad mines all over the place.

i agree. in the mad hours of me playing this game, there has only been 1 time (last night) where i actually enjoyed the people i was playing with and we were all on the same page. we need to recruit. i'm not at the rank that you and nuno are at, so i can't go into some of those special rooms. if we recruit... they gotta be cool and on the same page.
