View Full Version : Best Offensive & Defensive Boxers THRILLAinmanila 11-09-2004, 10:56 PM Who are your personal picks and why ? NAB 11-09-2004, 11:04 PM Offensive: Tszyu, Trinidad, for agression, & picking shots Defensive: PB Floyd - obvious. oldgringo 11-09-2004, 11:23 PM Offensive: Cotto, Trinidad, Tszyu, Lacy, Corrales, Wladdy Klit, Pac Defensive: Toney, Byrd, Mayweather, Hopkins, Wright LeFtHooK24 11-09-2004, 11:37 PM offense-Mayweather,Trinidad,Tyson(when he was in his prime) defense-Mayweather,Pernell Whitaker, and James "Lights Out" Tony loangunZ 11-09-2004, 11:38 PM defense: winkey wright, james Toney NAB 11-10-2004, 01:54 AM Yeah I forgot Toney for defense. Doesn't seem to do much, but is hard to hit. Swifty 11-10-2004, 02:01 AM Offense- Trinidad, Ike Ibeauchia ( or howeever u spell his last name.) Defense- Floyd and Toney NAB 11-10-2004, 02:09 AM Roy was unorthodox, but nearly impossible to hit because of Speed. I see Zab going the same way towards the end of his career - bad KO's, as soon as his speed goes Supafly25 11-10-2004, 09:23 PM Offensive: Trinidad, Tszyu Defensive: Toney, Mayweather All-round: Cotto rsl 11-10-2004, 09:54 PM Gosh, where to start, too many to name. Well here's some for Offense: Marvelous Marvin Hagler(the guy was a freakin' punching machine), Iron Mike Tyson(need I say more, and Roberto Duran(monster). As for defense I think there aren't as many great defensive fighters as there are offensive fighters, anyway here's one for defense I think this guy has to top my list and that's Pernell Whitaker(the guy was simply untouchable), Marvin Hagler( In my eyes he lost to Leonard but as quick as Leonard was he picked off 99.9% of those punches, and Holyfield( just very technically sound on both ends) Deejay 11-11-2004, 12:53 AM Defensive: Toney, Mayweather Offensive: Tszyu, Tito, Cotto, Pacman, All round: a prime Roy Jones Junior...no one comes close. Prorock 11-11-2004, 01:42 AM Offensive: Tszyu, Trinidad, Corrales, Cotto Defensive: Mayweather, Toney, Wright patto1984 11-11-2004, 01:46 AM offensive-kostya,pac defensive-pbf, winky ChrististheAnswer 11-11-2004, 01:47 AM Defense:Chris Byrd, Winky Wright, PBF, and James Toney. Ivansmamma 11-11-2004, 04:47 AM offensive: Tyson, Frazier defensive: Toney NAB 11-11-2004, 05:09 AM RJJ's defense was based on pure reflexes, which is probably why he's getting badly KO'd as he loses them slightly... mr. bojangles 11-11-2004, 05:19 AM Offensive : prime Tyson, Tszyu, Trinidad, Cotto, Pacquiao Defensive : prime RJones Jr., Mayweather Jr., Spinks, Toney, Byrd Italian250 11-11-2004, 08:21 AM Offensive: Julian Jackson, Joe louis, George Foreman, SRR, Henry Armstrong, Sandy Saddler, Tyson.. Defensive: Willie Pep, Pernell Whittaker, Winky Wright, Joey Maxim.. jabsRstiff 11-11-2004, 08:24 AM How come so many of you picked almost all current day boxers, & then listed "prime Mike Tyson" ? Damn....this guys nut sack has to be GONE....from all the tonguing it gets. Best of today : Offensive = Trinidad, Corrales, Tszyu, Pac, R. Marquez. Defensive = Mayweather, Toney, Hopkins, nobody else. LuKahnLi 11-11-2004, 09:23 AM Offensive = Trinidad, Tszyu, Castillo Defensive = Toney, Mayweather, Hopkins chilly9876 11-11-2004, 10:12 AM hmmm im gonna try pick persons not already mentioned... offense- morales defense- Ali mic573 11-11-2004, 10:24 AM Right now is would say Tito is the best offensive fighter. He picks he shots and is very accurate. He never waste any of his punches unless his opponents are hurt and he is trying to finish them but even those are good punches and not wild punches. Defensively Mayweather is the best. When he isn't trying to prove that he is tough Mayweather is damn near impossible to hit. This guy is amazing to watch when he is on top of his game. jack_the_rippuh 11-11-2004, 12:29 PM Defensive: Whitaker Offensive: Joe Louis |
