Arlovksi lacks too much in takedown defense. Watching him against Roy "Big Country" Nelson led me to believe that he is too one dimensional to win this fight by anything other than a punch, which is a stretch in itself considering Fedor's durability.

Fedor via Submission.

I like Arlowski, but Fedor is unstoppable and he will KO my second favorite HW inside of 2 rounds.

To be honest I didn't read much into the fight. It was on short notice and Arlovski didn't know much about the guy because he was spending his time training for Barnett. Plus it looked like he hadn't taken the match to seriously and woke up in the 2nd after what had happened in the 1st.

I think Arlovski will be the most motivated he has ever been and will put up a good fight. But I see Fedor taking this one on points.

I can't wait for the fallout from this if (a big if I know) Fedor loses. All the excuses will come flying out much like they did when Shogun lost to Griffin lol!

If (HUGE if) Arlovski wins, it will be by a one punch KO. That's his only chance, a puncher's chance and a small one at that.

Blowing out your knee is a very valid excuse. Its the second Coleman fight that Rua can make no excuse for

Didn't make a difference IMO, Couture beat Gonzaga with a broken arm, Griffin had his arm broken and KO'ed the other guy with his other one and Anderson beat Lutter having come back from surgery on both knees 11 weeks prior, Shogun has never shown the guts to pull through when he's up against it because in Pride he had mystique built around him that opponents would give him too much respect. He was gassed by the second just like the Coleman fight only difference being that Griffin is a live opponent, a better fighter and has heart and resilience by the truckload.

We must have different definitions of resilience. If Forrest had resilience and explosiveness he would still be champ.

He got his arm broken and KO'ed the guy with the other one, how is that not resilient?

In Rashad Evans you have a guy who is both explosive, resilient and whose skills as a fighter are the reason he sits atop the 205lb division at this point in time. That doesn't mean that Forrest has resilience or toughness because that loss was not about those things. It was a simple case of making a mistake and having an opponent who can capitalise on mistakes and make people pay. You honestly telling me that if that was Shogun in Griffin's shoes and he was in the same position that Griffin was in when he lost he would've been able to pull through. I highly doubt it.

And essentially fights aren't always won on those factors alone, it's a number of things which essentially culminate in the fact that a fighter that is well rounded both mentally and physically will more often than not succeed or at least have a very good chance at succeeding. My point was that, skills aside, Shogun only has heart and determination when he is on the attack with a guy who is too respectful of him and is fighting the myth rather than the man. Fight the man, beat the man, and you dispel the myth. At 205 now, he's gonna get no respect from any of the guys in there with him especially after his most recent performance. They know his strengths and they know his weaknesses and unfortunately his weaknesses are starting to become glaring ones which at this point in time doesn't bode well for him.

A lot of people were impressed by Arlovski in the Nelson fight, but i wasn't. Nelson had his moments on the ground in that one and he is nowhere near top class.

I see Fedor being able to stand with Arlovski if he wants to but at some point it will go to the ground and it wont take Fedor long to finish him. Sub is a big possibility but i think ground and pound is more likely.

Fedor takes it late in the first or early in the second.

Arlovski doesnt have the chin to last too long against Fedor
