Adam, Ad-Aware 6 is the ****. It rids your PC of any spyware that might be on it. Also, SpyBot is good. I'll get links for both of these and shoot them your way.
As far as pop-up blockers, try going to download.com and searching for a free one. I used to use Stopzilla, which worked great, but I've not been able to find a crack for the newer version yet. I'm still working on that though. If I have any luck at all, I'll send it to you.
