Sources close to the situation have informed us that former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is set to announce his signing with Golden Boy Promotions and that win, lose or draw against Fedor Emelianenko on January 24th, his next fight will take place inside of a boxing ring. "If Andrei wins against Fedor on the 24th, I would put him right into a title fight with Nikolai Valuev right away. It would be Belarus vs. Russia and that's huge marketing for PPV and Andrei has a huge crowd in that area. He will cross over into boxing though; that is a definite! His next fight after Fedor will be a boxing match,"

Craziness, but after Hari/Overeem who knows.

Belarus Vs Russia PPV. If every single person in both countries who has a TV got the fight it might do 17 ppv's.

Waste of time, and will never ever happen. Next thread por favor.

Then all this "mma sucks, lesnar was 2-1 and got a title shot" threads would immediately stop. The fights not gonna happen though.

He's going to lose to Fedor, and he'd lose to Valuev.

Fedor is good, hell he's the best HW but he's not in the UFC or any MMA big ORG and on a contract. Thus he chooses how many fights he has each year. All i'm saying is if he had to fight 3-4 times a year like most HW fighters he would have more losses than the single one he had and avenged. I'd respect Fedor more if he was under a major org fighting the Lesnars of this world, right now he's like a boxing fighter in a mma world, using his marketability to get the fights when and against who he wants them.

Fedor is a stud, but you know his opposition as of late is not impressive.

I'm still picking Arlovski with the upset.

I think Arlovski has good enough hands to hang with the pathetic heavyweight division in boxing. I'm sure he'll have to fight a few fights before fighting for any type of title, alphabet or not.

taking out Sylvia in 36 is still impressive.

yeah the boxing politics IMO would hold Andrei back the most.

Arlovski fighting for a Title would be the Boxing equivolent to Lesnar getting a crack at the UFC title.

Upset, the key word in that statement. Everyone has a puncher's chance in MMA, but that's about as much as I'm willing to give Arlovksi. If he wins, it is because of one well delivered punch.

And I also think Arlovski has good enough hands to hang with a lot of the Heavyweight boxing division. Hopefully he'll do better than he has done in MMA. If he works on defense I think that Arlovksi can make up for his somewhat suspect chin. I've always wanted to see Arlovski box professionally along with Belfort. I think that they can both do well.

yeah I agree man, enough with the speculation. Good that they're planning to go pro so all the coulda shoulda wouldas get thrown out the window and we can see em in the ring.

**depending on how Andrei progressed with boxing, MAYBE he could get on the fast track to a title belt.

like if Arlovski can win impressively and kayo's say his first 6 or 7 opponents I know the media would be all over an MMA fighter going after an Alphabet title.

and could you imagine the promotion?

plus it would start up the whole "MMA vs Boxing" arguments (can an MMA fighter really beat a Champion Boxer)

still though a tremendous hypothetical at this point, but I'd be kinda cool to see happen.
