Hi everyone!! We got home today and I found out that I was misinformed. It was only State wide televised vs nationwide. Oh well!

Day one: Bus was an hour late, bus driver was given wrong directions, we end up an hour and half late. Kids had to go to their scheduled practice before going to the hotel. Then dinner at Kiawanna's Wave Pool. Cool Pool. It has waves like the ocean and my daughter was in the water before dinner. That's my water baby!! Off to the hotel for sleep...haha...with 88 teenagers.....haha!!

Day two: We went shopping at a local outlet mall and my daughter bought me a license plate frame that says...."CRAZY MOM OF THE MAD CREW!" She's so sweet. Talking to the owner of the little booth where the frame was made said his son was involved in King of the Cage in AZ. He's heard of The Scorpian! Yay!! I told him to get on GlobalMMA....so maybe we will "meet" again!

Lunch, practice, then off to RAWHIDE for a steak dinner and western fun! I bought a cowgirl hat and had my picture taken with the "Marshall" of the town. Walked around, had fun. We had a girl get sick and had to call the paramedics out and had her taken to the hospital. Bronchitis. Her parents didn't take her to the doctors after she'd been sick since Nov. Tsk tsk. They'll pay now.

Day Three: The parade. The kids marched and were video taped by the news station and the girls' grandmother took a picture of the tv!!! That's a grandma for you! I walked the parade route afte the kids were judged and taped and fed them water. It was a three mile parade and they had never done one that long before. Only one mile. They did great!! The drum cadence had a little whoo whoop in it and the audience loved it!! After the parade, I couldn't walk...but it was worth it!

That night, New Year's Eve night, the kids were taken to a party where they could jump onto a velcro wall, watch movies, karaoke, dancing, games, pool, talk, cards, eat, drink and be merry and ring in the new year. The parade winners were announced and our band placed 15th out of 22 and the color guard placed 14th out of 22. That was good considering they are not a parade band.

Day Four: The competition. They played......they knew they wouldn't make finals and they didn't. They placed 13th out of 13. The color guard got 11th out of 13. They were up against some really BIG bands and just didn't do their best. Oh well! We had fun anyways!!! We went back to the hotel and some went to the movies. I stayed. I was completely exhausted by then.

Day Five: Packed up and went home. YAY!!! On the bus we sang karaoke and videotaped the kids singing and acting silly. I ended up getting taped while singing "Joy to the world" and one of the songs from Grease. I had a blast.

We came to a "right lane must merge left" and no one would let the bus in. So our driver started scooting and they still would not give up their spot!!! Then a truck from BEHIND the bus barreled past us on the shoulder of the road and then made gestures from in front of us. At the Border Patrol Check, the drivers of the said vehicles could be seen talking and pointing at us. The BP officer asked our driver what the hell was going on. Tim, the driver, told them that no one would let him in and the officer asked him if he was drunk!! Tim told him not with all these kids on board. We were sent on our way. About 6 miles down the road, we saw the truck pulled over by the CHP!! POETIC JUSTICE!!! We cheered!!!!

We got home, put away our equipment and left the school. YAY! I'm glad to be home, but I had soooo much fun!!:)

The kids paid $500 each for their trip. We did a lot of fundraising to manage it. My girls didn't work as hard as they should have and only managed to raise $500 total. We needed $1,000 for both girls. My trip was paid for by the boosters because I chaperoned.
