this is a repost... I accidentally posted this in the video sharing lounge :D

I've noticed that the majority of boxers shave their legs.. both pro and amateur.
I was wondering why? Is there any added benefit? I know why cyclists and swimmers do it but I just can't think of why I boxer would? I don't shave mine but I see a lot of other fighters do. Is it something I should be doing?
I imagine I would probably feel naked walking around with bare legs though.

Reasons I thought of, logically -

Hairy Legs make it harder for sweat to roll off and help to keep warmer body temperatures trapped. Sweat can also start weighing you down... Imagine if boxers wore shirts how wet and heavy they'd be. Hair can act as clothing in that regard.

I have extremely hairy legs, and I don't box, but I was thinking of starting to train- and I wondered if I'd shave them. I too would feel naked. lol

I shave my head, chest, army, legs, and pretty much just have my goatee.

I feel cleaner, and more motivated when I groom well for some reason, but I've always been that way.

I'm also sweat ALLOT, and being hairless cools me down. My girlfriend likes me all baby smooth as well:)

It actually came about at the gym and my friend told me all the boxers did it as well.
I started looking through images and it was true.. both new boxing and old.
I tried it the other night.. It looks better but feels weird. It's like when I shaved my goatie for the first time in the longest.. it felt like a part of me was missing.

Never heard of this sorry, but in the AM's Im required to shave my facial hair. That is the only thing about hair that I have heard.

I guess if you amass all the body hair they remove, it could equal at least a pound or 2.

I had my hair cut a while ago, just a trim not much and I went from 135 - 133.
