great song from his next album. :boxing:
MetalVomit 12-29-2008, 04:11 PM that is one seriously ****ing overused piano sample. X is as shot as Roy Jones, unfortunately.
Truth 12-29-2008, 06:23 PM i thought this was good...
Grand Champ 12-30-2008, 07:23 PM More shot then RJJ? Dude get outta here..! X is on top of his game..! 6 no 1 albums agrees with me

Man, I've been a big DMX fan. "It's dark and Hell is hot", "Flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood", and "...and then there was X" were ****ing amazing. 3 classic albums I still play, to this day. "The Great Depression" was tolerable, but "Grand Champ" was painfully, and I say painfully because of how much I looked up to X when I was younger, average. "Year of the Dog" was ****ing terrible. He's been in steady decline, I would love NOTHING more than to see him rise up and put out material on par with his first 3 albums, but none of these new tracks suggest anything to me, other than he's shot, like RJJ, living off of his legacy.
Grand Champ 12-30-2008, 07:32 PM What's so bad about his new albums? He's still raw, spits from his heart and haven't changed his style or anything for girls to feel him.. What's so bad about it? It's not like Kanye West who recently completely changed his music with his new album, if so i could understand it..

I think hes just saying in comparison to what he use to be. X is still nice, but he was even nicer back in the day. Its like that for alot of rappers.

Could be, yes. I'm just saying that I personly can't see that big of a difference. But everybody is in titel to their opinion .. Anyway :gives::trink26:

repetitive rhymes, beats that aren't good enough for him. I'm not hating on him, but he's fallen off, imo. Like you said, we're all entitled to one, maybe because I used to hold him up as one of the greatest from his first through third albums, but after that, it's been down hill.
"hawk, park, bark, new york", "suck my dick", "******s in the morgue", etc.
lyrically, he's past it, I hope he does get it back though. It's never too late.

When you put it up like that i can see what you mean. ''And Then there was X'' is also one of my all time favourite albums and it's hard to live up to that..! What do you think of other tracks from his coming albums like ''Built Like a *****'' ''Already'' and ''I Wish'' ?
Floyd Sinclair 12-30-2008, 08:41 PM I think all his new songs are nice. Hes not as skilled lyrically as he was in my opinion. I actually think X was at his best when IDAHIH dropped, even before that with his unreleased music but hes always made good music and he still does now. Compared to other rappers hes not that bad, its just that when you start out as great as he did of course people are gonna say he fell off. Same with Prodigy.
I actually didnt like his last 2 cds (Grand champ and Year of the dog) until now. I bought grand champ when it first came out, liked about 5 or 6 songs on it. I downloaded it tonight after not listening to it for a while and I like it. Theres at least 9 or 10 songs I like. And Year of the dog is good too. Where we ever hear a Its dark and hell is hot type of album from X again? No. But i still like what hes doing. X is still one of the realest rapper in the game and Ill be at circuit city coppin his new cd the day it drops.
Tha Greatest 12-31-2008, 12:57 AM DMX is nothing but a ****in crackhead.
