Some play-by plays from Sherdog

1. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs Ikuhisa Minowa
Round 1=Minowa comes out and gets the double leg takedown on Rampage. Rampage reverses and both get back to their feet.

Rampage slam Minowa down to the mat and gets the side mount. Rampage throws some brutal knees from the side mount that all land on Minowa's side and some on the face.

They both stand again and Rampage goes for another slam. Minowa holds on with a guillotine and both go down.

Rampage is in side mount again and he knees away on Minowa. He gets full mount as the round ends.

Round 2=Minowa goes for takedown but can't get it. Rampage slams Minowa down to the mat again. Rampage throws more knees in the sidemount and the refereee stops it.

Winner: Rampage by TKO in 2nd Round

2. Heath Herring vs Giant Silva
Round 1= They come out and the Giant chases Heath and tries to catch him. Heath is too fast and he runs away from Silva.

Heath lands some low kicks on Giant Silva and Giant Silva forearms Heath. Silva lands a low kick of his own.

Heath continues to run around and Silva continues to chase. All Heath is doing is throwing leg kicks and the round ends.

Round 2= The both tumble down to the ground as the round begins. Heath gains Silva's back and gets the Rear Naked Choke victory.

Winner: Heath Herring by RNC in 2nd Round

3. Hayato "Mach" Sakurai vs Daiju Takase

Winner: Sakurai by Unanimous Decision

4. Akira Shoji vs Murillo "Ninja" Rua
Round 1= Shoji comes out and gets the takedwon on Ninja. Shoji is in Ninja's guard. Ninja gives kicks form the bottom and some land and as a result bloodies Ninja in the mouth.

They both stand up and Ninja attacks Shoji. Ninja lands a big knee to Shoji's chin and KO's him.

Winner: Murillo "Ninja" Rua by KO

5. Hidehiko Yoshida vs Royce Gracie
Round 1= Right off the bat Royce Gracie kicks Yoshida in the groin. Royce receives a yellow card and the fight continues.

Yoshida nails Royce with a big right hand and Royce falls to the mat. Yoshida jumps on top and attempts a Gi choke. He can't get it and stands up out of mild frustration. Royce desperately kicks at Yoshida from the butt-scoop. Royce catches Yoshida's leg and goes for an ankle lock but Yoshida escapes.

Yoshida gains Royce's back and goes for a RNC but Royce escapes. Then Yoshida goes for an armbar but Royce escapes again.

Eventually Royce gains Yoshida's back! Royce attempts the RNC but Yoshida bars Royce's hands and reverses Royce as the bell rings for the first round.

Round 2= Royce and Yoshida start oout and both go to the ground. Royce gains Yoshida's back once again and rains blows. Royce goes for the rear naked choke but Yoshida defends well and escapes. Royce goes for ankle lock but Yoshida escapes again. Royce presses the action and has Yoshida's back once more and attempts Rear naked Choke once again but the bell rings and the fight ends!

Winner: DRAW

7. Daniel Gracie vs Wataru Sakata
Round 1= They trade some punches in standup and the fight eventually goes to the ground.

Daniel gets the armbar locked in and Sakata submits.

Winner: Daniel Gracie by Armbar in Round 1

8. Yuki Kondo vs Mario Sperry
Round 1= Sperry goes for takedown but Kondo nails him with a BIG knee and throws him to the ground. Kondo goes into side mount and rains knees on Sperry's face. Sperry is bleeding profusely and the referee stops the fight so the doctor can have a look.

The doctor decides that the cut is too severe and Kondo gets the huge win.

Winner: Yuki Kondo

9. Kiyoshi Tamura vs Ronnie Sefo
Round 1= Tamura shoots in and gets the takedown. Tamura goes for armbar and gets it!

Winner: Kiyoshi Tamura by armbar in the 1st round

That's a very good possibility. GnP or even a sub would have been believable, but Goodridge ko'ing Frye with a high kick just reeks of work to me. Suppose I should reserve my judgement 'til I see it, but it just doesn't sound right.

no. i dont complain about silva fighting cans, its just that rampage has fought better fighters than silva has and silva is GOD. makes no sense. of course, like i stated about rampage, silva has to fight who they give him, however the calibur of competition, especially as of late... has been more geared torwards rampage's corner.

everyone fights tomato cans here and then.... i just think silva is fed more than most, and thats the reason for being where he has been for so long. he beat rampage and yoshida in the finals, great job, honestly, he deserves to be where he is.... now, not for the last 2 years tho. i cant take nothing away from silva, hes a great fighter and is definately a number #1 contender for any LHW right now.
