View Full Version : "The Real Barrera will show up November 27th"
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 11-09-2004, 02:56 PM 11/09/04 - La Opinion
Marco Antonio Barrera feels confidence and promises an incredible show when he shows up to fight his nemesis Erik Morales on the 27th of November in Las Vegas. In a teleconference from his training camp at Big Bear, California, Barrera promises that the real Barrera will show up for the fight on the 27th. "Im very confident that on that night i will give Morales such a fight that he wont expect, at 30 years of age its hard to change my style. What i can assure you is that this time i have put more effort into my training in these 8 weeks i have already completed," said Barrera.
About his disadvantage at 130 pounds. "He will have the advantage but we are taking all the necessary steps to ensure that i will arrive strong at 130. I will fight because i am proud, and for the people who demanded a 3rd fight. The jump from 122 to 126 wasnt much but i never thought i would be fighting at 130 yet here i am."
About their power "We are about even in punching power, but i have the advantage of mentality and expericne and thats why we have accepted this fight when i needed it the most (recent loss). Thats why I will show everyone the way it needs to be shown, by winning."
About Morales' KO prediction, "Thats what he says, but this time he will face a Barrera that is confident, motivated, and more experience. Maybe he'll end up like Mayorga where the supposed Koer ends up being Koed."
jujitsujn 11-09-2004, 03:09 PM I think Barrera won both of their fights, the second one more convincingly then the first. I do believe Barrera will win this one as well.
The Fix 11-09-2004, 05:35 PM i got barrera in the third because it looks as if he will be the underdog and that will motivate him
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 11-09-2004, 06:17 PM I thought Morales won both encounters and i favor him in the 3rd.
I will also be rooting for him as I feel if he sucseeds he will be able to go further in his career than Barrera.
bigddubb 11-09-2004, 07:04 PM I'm picking Morales by SD. I think Pacman ruined Barrera and this fight will show it.
QueenCity 11-09-2004, 07:08 PM This is a career defining fight for both guys. I'll give Morales a slight edge, but I'm a fan of both guys this is a PPV i'll definitly be buying. I honestly don't think the bump up in weight class will effect MAB too much ,it sounds like he is ready to go.
borikua 11-09-2004, 07:08 PM Morales by TKO late rds...
Can't wait for this fight.
tracylee 11-09-2004, 07:21 PM "The Real Barrera will show up November 27th"
I really, really, REALLY hope so!!!!!
I absolutely love both of these guy's and if Barrera, the pre-Pacquiao Barrera, shows up it will be one hell of a fight.
I thought the first 2 bout's were great and have waited a long time on the rubber match; even my kid is all worked up about this one! ;)
When these 2 square off they bring everything the have to the ring and the results are awesome. It's one ppv I'll pay for with no anxiety whatsoever.. :D
THRILLAinmanila 11-09-2004, 07:24 PM I think Barrera is through. Morales will beat him good
tracylee 11-09-2004, 07:36 PM I think Barrera is through. Morales will beat him good
Through? Just because of Manny? Maybe Manny's fans would like to think that but I wont give him THAT much credit. One loss (were talking about a warrior here, with a warriors mentality) regardless of how bad it was, doesnt always end a career, and I'll believe it when I see it! ;)
loangunZ 11-09-2004, 08:32 PM I think Morales will take it with a late KO as well

Well, then we'll just have to see come fight night :D
I'm a big fan of both warriors. I believe that Barrera won the 1st fight and Morales the 2nd. This time, Morales will win convincingly. At 122 Barrera was clearly the stronger feller, at 126 it was about even, but 130 is Morales' comfort zone. El Terrible is the bigger guy this time. Size does matter.
phallus 11-09-2004, 09:16 PM i've been a fan of Barrera since the mid 90's, and i think, as some others do, that one loss does not end a career. Against Pac, i think MAB just had a really bad night, but it could turn out to be the best motivation, MAB is planning to show us all he's not done
tntkid 11-09-2004, 09:59 PM I can't wait for this fight, I just hope it's as good as we expect. Personally I can see Barrera winning this one by late ko.
ispayder 11-09-2004, 10:10 PM Morales by TKO Mid to Late rounds.
miron_lang 11-09-2004, 10:14 PM I want a Barrera victory but I think Morales will win this one
LeFtHooK24 11-09-2004, 11:24 PM the judges owe Morales for ****ing him outta the last fight.Morales won that 2nd fight..1st fight draw,2nd fight morales!

He just said that barrera was through meaning he doesn't have it anymore. How come you brought manny pacquiao's fans to this? Man, it's out of the subject!

1st fight Barrera won, I think the second could have gone either way.

easy folks. let's just take tracy's post as it is. If she likes Barrera, then let's respect her for that. Must have misinterpreted that my post was referring to the beating MAB got from Manny :) cool down guys :)
Hurlex 11-10-2004, 12:32 AM i think mab will win..and think instead of losing ..he will gain power with weight gain...i was right for dlh/hop..and predicted a third round ko from KT against Mitchell...for this i say Morales gets to gutsy goes in and gets a surprise and gets ko'ed by mab in late rounds...and if he dont get ko he will lose by UD...MAB brings out worst in Morales
Hurlex 11-10-2004, 12:35 AM old mab was almost unbeatable...i would hope if these is a rematch..O>G> MAB would show up..against pac...i think MAB could ko pac
m00ks 11-10-2004, 12:35 AM i think mab will win..and think instead of losing ..he will gain power with weight gain...i was right for dlh/hop..and predicted a third round ko from KT against Mitchell...for this i say Morales gets to gutsy goes in and gets a surprise and gets ko'ed by mab in late rounds...and if he dont get ko he will lose by UD...MAB brings out worst in Morales
but you we're wrong about tito-mayorga... :D
Hurlex 11-10-2004, 12:37 AM i betted on tito..what u talking about :D hahaha nanana..ask yoko
oldgringo 11-10-2004, 12:41 AM i think mab will win..and think instead of losing ..he will gain power with weight gain...i was right for dlh/hop..and predicted a third round ko from KT against Mitchell...for this i say Morales gets to gutsy goes in and gets a surprise and gets ko'ed by mab in late rounds...and if he dont get ko he will lose by UD...MAB brings out worst in Morales
He brings out the worst in Morales?!?! The first fight was MAB and Morales in top form bringing out the best in each other! It's not that Morales was doing a lot wrong...I think Erik brings out the best in Barrera, just like Kennedy McKinney did.
As for their history I think Morales did enough to win the first fight and the KD possibly could have made it a draw. Barrera landing just looked a little bit nicer. The second fight was also close and I personally think Erik won but I can definitely see how people could score Barerra winning it. I hope Marco brings his A game and we get a third installment that is reminiscent of Morales/Barrera I.
Hurlex 11-10-2004, 12:43 AM excactly (he's a boxer..he dont have big power) thats what morales saids..he doesnt like brawls but with mab..for some reason he has to brawl which is when he is in danger..he as said that mab brings out worst in him..his words in spanish were
"i go from DLH to mayorga...i mean i cant box him..he gets me into wars which anyone could win..but if he want to brawl i will..but there is more danger of course which i dont like"
Tha Greatest 11-10-2004, 12:48 AM whoever wins i just hope it will not be less then 9-10 rounds
cuz i'm goin all tha way to ****in vegas to watch tha fight
and i dun wanna see wsomeone go down to a random body shot
or a no contest or someone get a cut
i wanna fight
a brutal fight
i wanna see some serious brain damage and get my moneys worth
i want it to be a fight of tha year so it would be better then marquez- pacman and mayorga-trinidad
i want my moneys worth n all i'm sayin is if another upsets happens i'm gonna go CRAZY
Hurlex 11-10-2004, 01:31 AM and thats what u will get...this fight will be great..both have great chins..thats cool thats ur going..get there early..good undercard also
Swifty 11-10-2004, 01:57 AM I got a feeling Bareera is gonna work El terribles ribs and wear him down for the middle rounds and Knock him out in the 8th or 9th. This is provided the "real barera shows up."
Never thought I'd say this, but Morales TKO 10
FistoftheDallasStar 11-10-2004, 02:42 AM Morales won both fights in my opinion. Barrera sees the end of his career looming and might press a little harder than normal. I hope this fight is as good as the first but usually a fighter trying to fight beyond his limits can leave himself open to counter punches. Morales being a great counter puncher will be ready. Pride alone will take this to the score cards for a Morales UD.

THANK YOU! Apparently I did misinterpret your post; I'm so use to alot of Manny's fans saying that MAB is finished, that Manny ruined him, etc... And I really thought that was what you meant too. My bad, my apologies if I was wrong about that, and thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt ;)
