Stay with me on this one. I'm messed up on cold pills so I might wander a little.
Ok it's obvious that most of us here spend a lot of time on the computer. My question is what's the difference between sitting on here or sitting on the couch watching tv?
I just had a big discussion with a friend about this last night.
We were talking about what we would be doing today and he gave me the usual line from a typical 30 something guy in my peer group."Going to get a 12 pack and watch the football game"
I told him I was going to do some stuff here (on Global) and send out some emails for follow ups and order some parts for a customer.
He starts laughing and telling me how it's not normal to spend that much time on a computer. That I should do something else.
I asked him what the difference is between sitting on the couch looking at a CRT or me sitting in a chair looking at one.(this was followed by a quick explanation of what a Cathode Ray Tube is)
"It just is" or "at least I talk to real people" and "it can't be good for you"(this is when I offer to do a body fat measurement and go for a jog)
Anyway anyone else get this **** from people? Is sitting on the computer the same as watching tv or any other media format?
