View Full Version : FN4 Idea (to get all fighters we need in game)
McAlister 12-22-2008, 11:42 AM All they have to do is make a roster, that is ALWAYS updated when you sign online to play.... like Madden, & Basketball games.... that way we will always have all the fighters that are active and need to be in the game...
Problem Solved
Now will they do it?? thats another thing
Seriously.... the game has online play, so why not use that to ya advantage and update fighters . . . think EA u guys can do it
:439:
The_Bringer 12-22-2008, 12:13 PM It's a nice concept but I doubt we'll ever get it. EA is not willing to pour the kind of money they would need to do it into making it happen. They basically reserve the majority of their money for their Madden series.
reedickyaluss 12-22-2008, 12:19 PM its a little harder to do something like that when dealing with graphics like FNR4....
with madden and basketball, they canapply a generic body type to a character and slap an unrealisitic face on madden or basketball.. but with boxing, a lot of time and detail go into the individual boxers look, stance, fighting style, etc etc... its not something that would be easily updated

Not easy to accomplish, but it could be done. They're just have to put some time and money into making it happen, something I doubt they'd even consider. Basically Madden is their money maker, that's where the majority of their budget goes. And what's left over goes into the other sports games they make, "Fight Night" included.
McAlister 12-22-2008, 04:23 PM Or.. then they should try to do like the 2K series does with their sports games...
and have a HUGE list of First, and Last names that they can say...
so when you create a fighter like Haye... (who may not be in the game) atleast the commentator will be able to say Haye, instead of saying sum cheesy nickname like The Punisher

That's a great suggestion also, that coupled with a deeper create a champ mode would make it worth it alone.
I had to create Shane Mosley on round 3, and they didn't even have "Sugar" as a nickname. WTF?
I had to settle for "Sweetness". :(
-Hyperion- 12-22-2008, 06:21 PM id say do a phonetics menu......and you write the name of the fighter you want in phonetics......so the commentator can say that.....
-Hyperion- 12-22-2008, 06:24 PM cheaper to pay for phonetic sounds than have the commentator say god knows how much names........

Either way it wouldn't be too hard. Have like maybe 100 common first and last names.
The only guy you couldn't make would be Dwight Muhammad Qawi.
robjr 12-22-2008, 08:58 PM thats a great idea. they should really do that

that would be posible with phonetics, so yeah i own.... :D

Too bad EA thinks Phonetics is some type of geneticly engineered telephone.
lfcdynasty 12-23-2008, 04:19 AM I think the ref should be in the ring, think the feeling/ suprise of having the ref jump between the fighters to stop the fight if one guy taking a beating would be awesome.

Duh Muhammed is like the most popular name ever. Douche.
Don Corleone 12-23-2008, 02:50 PM You have to remember that they would have to reserve the rights to every fighters name and there's a big chance that not all fighters want that. That is the reason why many fighters were not in FNR3. You need exclusive rights just to use a boxers name and imagine how much boxers there would be. But overall it's not a bad idea. But if anything, they should have the most common names input into the game and by the commentators as someone already posted. Plus, the career mode should be improved...
Smokin'J 12-27-2008, 02:21 AM Don King has a few names for his game only, I think.
You guys are forgetting Fifa and such.
Everything can always be better thats why new Fight nights are keeping made and thats why we keep buying em'

Easier than you think bro. Check this out, we have all used the create your own character before. Its very customizable with style, hieght...etc.
The only only thing they would need to allow is to allow people to share created fighters. Then a pseudo-official fighter roster can be made. The only issue will probably be guys differing on opinions over created players attributes i.e. his power is too high or too low...etc.
They have it on NCAA09 with full 119 team roster which is a lot of data.
sterling 12-27-2008, 11:02 AM gd ideaas peeps
Mersey 12-28-2008, 10:53 AM They should just make a huge fighter list to start with. They should put the top active fighters in the game, the last one had like 1 HW that was still fighting, and he's not even heavyweight.

Thats the same legal problem that was in NCAA Football. The names of College players are not allowed. However, EA put a feature which allows people to customize/edit rosters and upload the roster.
Once uploaded the roster can be downloaded directly from the game by just putting in the uploaders Gamertag or PSN ID.
As long as they maximize created player features they can side step licensing issues with boxers.
