Cebu City -- Former WBC lightweight champion David Diaz and WBA super featherweight champion Edwin Valero, who are in the country to attend pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao's birthday bash in General Santos City last Wednesday, will arrive in Cebu this afternoon for a quick trip upon the invitation of promoter and Pacquiao confidant Rex 'Wakee' Salud.
Salud informed PhilBoxing.com that he is going to discuss with Diaz the proposed fight with Cebuano knockout artist Randy Suico which will be included in the blockbuster double world championship card on March 15 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City pitting WBO superfly champion Fernando Montiel against Nonito Donaire, Jr and IBF light flyweight champion Ulises Solis who will defend his title against Brian Viloria. Suico, the OPBF lightweight champion, defends his belt tonight against Ichitaro Ishii at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. A Suico-Diaz fight is sure to create fireworks as both are come forward fighters who threw plenty of bombs in the ring.
