I recently joined a bonafied boxing gym. This gym, while it lacks serious heavyweight competition, has a coach that truly pushes us all to our limits. My old gym was not like this at all.

The guy keeps me so sore I can barely work, and I work 10-11 hours a day sometimes. Anyone know of any nutrients or supplements/foods for boxers that can relieve muscle soreness???

...I am going to buy some muscle milk tommarrow at GNC, I was hoping to get some information before I head out to do that.

stretching well enough does the trick best i believe, maybe with some cold/hot treatment for quicker results

just like megadude said streching is important, also make sure that you are getting enough sleep, good calories consisting of enough protein, carbs fats, water, vitamns & minerals. try having ice baths or cold baths it pumps blood around faster, allof these things will help you recover faster

I've been using glutamine to speed my recoveries, and it has worked very well for me.

forget muscle milk.

this

I've been using glutamine to speed my recoveries, and it has worked very well for me.

+ a basic recovery whey protein.

consider also a multi vitamin if your busy day is keeping you from getting proper nutrients from your meals.

Stretching and warming up/cooling down properly. Also Skins™ help you recover faster and get rid of lactic acid build up. They also prevent muscle vibration and many other things. Since using them everyday, I can say they have defoe improved my recovery and ability to train without reoccuring injuries:

Plus all the best footballers wear the Nike Pro one's too:

over time you will adapt and get less sore, however it aint much you can do about it.

try light streching under hot shower.

if your protein intake is low it might help encreasing it

Plenty of fluids and an anti-inflammatory medicine ie Aleve or Advil, as mentioned.

Massaging the sore muscles also helps to release some of the lactic acid in the affected muscle.

Its called body rest.

True. But you dont always have time to let the body recover on its own, cuz that can take up to 3 or more days.

theres nothing that will do away with muscle soreness except getting used to what your doing. supplements, stretching, nutrition and rest will HELP but you just have to get used to it.

Glutamine is worthless for recovery. Get a BCAA or EAA supplement, and drink it during your workout. That will help with endurance also.

After proper rest try some walnuts, and almonds, and see if that helps.

Wear Skins, Recovery Skins and Nike Pro Compression when you're gonna bone a fit bird (fat limey blobs excluded!). I don't feel anything in terms of soreness anymore. I'm telling ya!

Versatile, sorta hard to do if you work ten hours a day, sometimes 12. No soft desk or office job either, I get in and out of a truck at least 75-100 times a day, and walk a good five to 8 miles a day...(high profile telephone/cable tv/sewer force main line locator, or, if I meet someone who I know has a better job than I do, I tell them I'm a 'damage prevention specialist for cox/at&t' ...;) )

Leff, that Leffe Blonde is a HELL OF A BEER. I don't drink anymore man, but on the mild occassion like I'll probably have a brew on Christmas day with my meal for ****s and giggles. That's a hell of a beer. IMO, it's up there with Aventinus and Optimator.

Mustapha, how long you been boxing?
