I want you to judge this at the time the systems were released, for me interims of graphics gameplay and game selection, Snes takes the number 1 spot.

USA4LIFE 12-18-2008, 06:58 PM SNES by far. No other system had as many hits, as many cult favs than SNES. I loved/love my PSX and my Sega Genesis but SNES ruled the gaming world when it came out. All you gotta know is this, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, that's all. raabd 12-18-2008, 07:04 PM SNES by far. No other system had as many hits, as many cult favs than SNES. Playstation had just as many great games... Metal Gear Solid FFVII FFVIII Mortal Kombat Trilogy Jet Moto FFT FFXI Chrono Cross Gameday '98 Resident Evil Resident evil 2 Syphon Filter etc and it also had the great graphics. The greatest games I've ever played have predominantly been on the Playstation, so it gets my vote. _Hunter_ 12-19-2008, 01:55 PM i gotta go with nintendo 64 PS1 was 10 times better than that system sleazyfellow 12-19-2008, 06:53 PM 1.snes 2.ps2 (still has games coming out for it and can play almost all ps1 games) 3.nes 4.playstation DarchinyFAN 12-19-2008, 08:10 PM 1. DarchinyFAN 12-20-2008, 12:38 PM BTW I place the PS2 over the PSX because you can play all the PSX games on the PS2. The_Bringer 12-20-2008, 03:54 PM BTW I place the PS2 over the PSX because you can play all the PSX games on the PS2. Same, plus you get what? 1,000+ other titles to play? With the God of War games, Metal Gear 2 and 3, the Resident Evil series, and the million other stellar PS2 titles. heat27 12-20-2008, 11:18 PM nintendo 64 Left2body 12-20-2008, 11:56 PM PS2. Offered great hardware reliability (my ps2 which was bought about 6 months after launch only died about 2 months before the ps3 launched). Had tremendous model life, you didn't have to rebuy new hardware or game library for many many years if you kept stuff in good shape. Also had about a gagillion games available. |
