LAS VEGAS, December 18, 2003….Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight fighter Javier Vasquez (8-1-0 in mixed martial arts) from Ontario, Calif., suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in training and has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Matt Serra (10-3-0) from Long Island, N.Y., at UFC 46: Super Natural, Saturday, January 31, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Serra will fight Gerald Strebendt (7-3-0) from Los Angeles, Calif., in the lightweight feature bout that is part of an all-star, eight-fight card that will be LIVE on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. EST on Super Bowl Saturday night

Serra Strebendt could be a great fight. Sub attempts galore.

I'd rather have seen Serra-Vasquez, but I guess Strebendt will have to do. Anyway, I feel sorry for Javier. It's hard to come back from those kind of knee injuries and still be effective.

I don't think Javi is coming back from this injury, I hope I'm wrong.
