Also what are some of their better songs.

oh **** yeah! jordison is on fire every second of their shows. of course he's now 2nd best to the bonham solo that's on those double disk zep dvds
Leather 12-19-2003, 11:18 AM I don't like them very much but i must say Mick Thompson is one of the best guitarrists (perhaps the one) of the Nu Metal school...
Purity 12-19-2003, 01:06 PM we call him Cain cause he looks just like that wrestler dude.

It was from a Torrents server so that is pretty fast. Great DVD by the way. Yes that is the best drum solo ever.
Aaron Bizarre 12-19-2003, 03:14 PM Jordison was insane when I saw him play live. I thought because they have 3 percussionists he may have been overrated. Not the case and his double base is sick.
Purity 12-19-2003, 03:20 PM absolutely. it's not that he plays it FAST, because tons of drummers can do that. it's just the timing. it hits you like a ton of bricks.
ultimate fighting music.
Aaron Bizarre 12-19-2003, 03:24 PM well organized. I know what you mean about the double base repitition. I have heard enough death metal to listen to guys just thrash at thier drum sets.

exactly. most death metal just throws the double kicks in as part of the overall sounds & melodies. there's no energy in it....just a steady rythm. and if you wanna play metal then you should understand that the overall goal isn't to have the listener bob their head....you want them to ram it through a ****in wall!
Leather 12-19-2003, 03:50 PM *coff* *coff* What about Peter Sandoval of Morbid Angel (the only death metal dru,,er who got a contract with Sabian) or Trym of Emperor??
A guy who I played with was a great drummer too, he usually played jazz and blues but when we were playing death he was a true gatling gun...
Purity 12-19-2003, 03:52 PM yeah but we just said how it's not really the actual SPEED of the kick but the timing in which it's thrown in

yes, yes...but I was speaking about a jazz drummer playing death metal, imagine guitar riffs which can be played in a 4x4 tempo but played with the jazz sequences. More or less like Sean Reinert with Cynic...
Aaron Bizarre 12-19-2003, 04:10 PM I aint hacking Death Metal drummers. Sandoval is awesome. Pungent stench has a decent drummer as well. when it comes to Metal music Nick Barker was voted one of the best as well as Igor Cavaliera.
Sandoval and the rest of Morbid Angel practice 8 hours a day.

Lucky bastards :-(
Aaron Bizarre 12-19-2003, 04:33 PM no man. you become a rockstar to escape that bracket. they are just perfectionists with a strong musical work ethic.
