View Full Version : Messing around boxing a guy (video)
Samuel F. 12-15-2008, 05:46 PM I normally wouldn't box someone just for some fun but I was in a daring mood. The is my first time doing any actual boxing. I hit the bag every now and then and I did some light sparring over a year ago. Besides that, no experience. Since I kind of enjoy this and me and the guys might make this a regular event. I was hoping to get some feedback for next time.
14 oz. gloves.
I'm a southpaw.
Excuse the poor camera work please.

Samuel F. 12-15-2008, 05:47 PM Oh, i'm the one in the black shirt.
Unbiased 12-15-2008, 06:51 PM your friend is a pu$$y
Trrmo 12-15-2008, 07:00 PM You have got some potential and move and punch ok. The other guy is useless though so I donīt no why you were beating on him so hard. If it is just sparring there is really no need for it because you arenīt helping the other guy at all. You know if I was sparring you I would take it easy because you are not experienced, how would you like it if I treated as a fight and beat the **** out of you? would be unfair right? (after seeing that video though It would be tempting not to though lol)
If you sparred with an experienced boxer like that you would get hurt. Anyway, if you like boxing go to a boxing gym, get some proper training and find some good sparring partners to help you realise your potential.
Spirit 12-15-2008, 07:40 PM If you're really just looking for feedback you don't need any you're fighting skinny kids. Why would we give you advise on how to beat up on your friends?
If you were to ever box: You have practically no head movement, you're very open to a jab the way you're rushing in, you're not giving any angles, hell I could go on for ages.
I know its fun messing around and stuff but this doesnt really look as cool to us as it does to you.
prankz24 12-15-2008, 08:23 PM not bad for having no experience...
crazyjames 12-15-2008, 08:37 PM that kid had no defence and can't box for ****... you should have tried doubling up your jab and throwng a hook to the body... you need to add an upercut he was wide open for it more then anything else.... but like the other guys said... take it easy on him .. you don't want to hurt him.
Zarco 12-15-2008, 08:43 PM you fight like manny pacquiao. just train to get manny pacs stamina and power and you too can be praised like a god just like pacquiao.
Two Clips 12-15-2008, 08:47 PM If you insist on backyard brawling try and find some other friend that can actually fight. To be honest that kid was sad and probably never had a real fight in his life. You looked pretty good for no experience but you were'nt worried about anything really coming back at you. You would probably be half way decent if you had some proper training.
Samuel F. 12-15-2008, 08:50 PM The guy isn't my friend. He wanted to box me and said he would knock me out. He wanted to be a UFC fighter til he actually boxed a couple of people that weren't scared of him. The uppercut is my favorite punch btw, and I think my best. For some I wasn't comfortable using it.
I do love boxing and I know the backyard boxing stuff is stupid. I was craving the fight though, you know? The closest gym is an hour and a half away, and thats an MMA gym that offers two boxing classes a week. The trainer is horrible to. I do start driving within the next few months and i'd just like sharpen up for when I do get a chance to go back.
you fight like manny pacquiao. just train to get manny pacs stamina and power and you too can be praised like a god just like pacquiao. Yes! I'll do it!
AndyTravis 12-15-2008, 10:31 PM I'd just like sharpen up for when I do get a chance to go back.
So what are you doing to sharpen up? I hope you're not counting the video, because that wasn't boxing. You obviously have picked up some basic concepts from somewhere, but if you want to be a 'boxer' then firstly, tone your ego down, become a bit more humble and respect the time and dedication it takes to learn.
TheTruthIs 12-15-2008, 10:42 PM Stop beating up defenceless girls. It's just not right.
the330ballers 12-16-2008, 10:24 PM Not bad. What I will say though is (if this was really your first time sparring) the first time you spar against a live opponent you will have a bit of trouble. Your eyes will close a lot and all technique will go out the window.
Oriachim 12-17-2008, 08:28 AM Easy to look alright when you fight a mong...
ophqui 12-17-2008, 10:40 AM either spar safely (in a ring, with supervision, headguards and gumsheilds) or not at all. this is stupid.

I used to back yard fight when i was a kid too.
In the black shirt? Not bad kid, you're movin your head which is a good thing.
You don't look like slop.
For someone who's never had any formal training and for someone who's just foolin around, looks like you whooped on that dude.
Get into a gym would be my advice.

YUHHHHHHH! 12-17-2008, 02:10 PM Jesus Christ, the kid posted a video of him boxing a ****y bum and all you guys swarm on him. How many people in this post have actually boxed and how many are just forum warriors? Let's make a ratio.
Cool fight kid, crack that bum.
supRa 12-17-2008, 02:56 PM that guy is a freakin bum but... since he called u out and said he could ko u... than he is just plain sad..... he is gonna get he ass whooped. but anyways great job man... got some solid ass shots... i would of done the same ****.. when people think they can take u on but turn out to be a ***** haha

hinduw 12-17-2008, 03:24 PM this sparring was better then that one of shawn vs luke or what ever
GoatBoner-2k9 12-17-2008, 05:40 PM that was wank!! boxing only in the gym not for looking "cool". would bet my very very large house on anyone to give you a beating that has ever trained before + my grandma Bertha.... but she wouldnt improve her legacy by beating this smuck.......................................... get to the gym or go to the grave you bum....
xx luk xx
Samuel F. 12-17-2008, 05:41 PM A couple years ago I went to a gym for a few months then they moved. Like I said though, the trainer was horrible. Being only 25 himself and still an amateur, he would often go to training right after ours was over.
Really all I can do is watch boxing, and hit the bag. Atleast with the backyard boxing I can get a little more comfortable fighting and learn more about my abilities. Any advice would be nice and thanks to those who have given it.
GoatBoner-2k9 12-17-2008, 05:47 PM ONLY AN AMATUER... IM an am and i can kick **** out of any pro... will go pro when im ready and clear up from lightweight to heavyweight (im lethal)
