View Full Version : Forest Griffin vs Rashad Evans
Brute Allmighty 12-14-2008, 08:13 PM Who do you think will win and why? Might as well throw Silva vs Jackson, Nogieara v Mir also some other fighters that should have and exciting matches CB Dolloway v Massinzio Check Kongo and Matt Hamel in other fights. Should be an awesome night of fighting.
JabSandwich 12-14-2008, 11:08 PM Forrest over Rashad. Rashad is a clown with an inflated record and Forrest is a durable fighting machine.
Nog over Mir. realistically, theres no way Nog is getting ko'd and theres no way he'll tap to anything that Mir puts him in that he can't escape from.
Massenzio over CB. CB looks funny, jk lol, i have no idea.
Silva over Rampage. all Rampage can really do is hit really hard and crack jokes, and Silva is an ANIMAL.
Kongo fite is a toss up, i'll go with Mustapha Al-Turk cos he has a cool name (yea, cooler than Cheick Kongo).
Lister over Okami. Lister's got legit skills and Okami is so boring he deserves to lose.
Hardonk over Burch.
Hamill over Andy.
Blackburn over Chonan.
Evensen over Barry.
YUHHHHHHH! 12-14-2008, 11:20 PM Typical answers here from me guys.
Evans over Griffin - Rashad's improved striking with his speed and power adds a whole new element to his game, plus I really don't think that Griffin can bring him to the ground very easily. I'd guess TKO R2 for Rashad.
Nogueira over Mir - I've said it before and I'll say it again. While Mir does possess (highly) above-par skills, he does not possess what is needed to stop or finish Nogueira. That isn't taking anything away from Mir, since I honestly believe there is no fighter out there that can stop Nogueira with the exception of a fighter that fights at a caliber above that of Fedor, whom obviously hasn't been discovered yet. In anything other than a lucky shot from Mir or a slip-up on Nogueira's part, Nogueira via Submission/TKO R1.
Silva over Jackson - Wanderlei has Rampage's number. I believe that every time they have/will step in the ring/cage, that Rampage's desire to compete is sapped within the first round. Silva via TKO R1/2.
Further, I think that Reese Andy has what it takes to become a competitor, including stopping Matt Hamill.
Forrest vs Rashad
Forrest will either win a boring UD, or Rashad will his own UD. I'm really not interested in watching Forrest fight. He's become someone who is unwilling to take risks in a fight in order to win. Rashad, however, has found out that he has extremely fast and heavy hands. Forrests gameplan will be to slowly grind out a decision using his huge size advantage. Rashad will need to come in striking accurately, moving in and out not allowing Forrest to use his reach. If he can turn Forrest over a lot, it will make his job a lot easier. After a while of that he needs to start including take downs after his combo's. He should be able to either win an exciting UD, or finish Forrest.
Brute Allmighty 12-15-2008, 10:02 AM The thing is you never know which forest you might get. I think he has the ability to ud Rashad for sur. And Rashad does have heavy hands but so did Rampage. And until he fought forest most thought there was no way Forest could beat him. But rampage put it best when asked about his thoughts he said simply put he whooped my ass. I honostly don't think Rashad brings any thing to the ring that forest hasn't seen before. He is a little quicker than rampage but in Forest's last two fights he has beat the supposedly best submission LHW and the best striking LHW and people still doubt him. I believe with forests cardio (second to none) and his counter& ground ability. I figure him in a ud. Possible submission. But he will have to bring his a game.
With Nog deff win over Mir. Mir has just struggled as of late. The win over Brock was because of what brock didn't know not what Mir did know.
With Silva Jackson I think it could go either way. I know Silva is tough but I think Jackson is gona come back with bad intentions and on top of his game after forest.
I don't know much about Dolloway's oponant so not much there.
With Cheick that guy is massave just huge he had a good win over Mirco who has never been the same since Gonzaga imo so it's hard to judge him by that one fight but by that one fight Mustafa better be better than average again don't know this Mustafa guy.
With Hammel I'm curious to see where he's at after that Franklin fight if he didn't let that fight get in his head I pick Matt if he did though probably the other guy ud
CopKline 12-15-2008, 11:28 AM Im picking Forest over Rashad for the simple fact that Forest has battled many tougher fighters the Rashad. Rashad's not a bad fighter but he no where near close to the caliber of fighter as Rampage and thats a fact. Rashad is undefeated but so what and many people are riding his nut just becouse he knocked out chuck and these days it seems like who hasnt. Forest is more experienced and has fought many different fighters and has been put into harder situations with the most dangerous men of mma... Oh and i pick Forest cuz hes a Georgia boy and fellow LE.
Rocky. 12-15-2008, 11:38 AM Forrest to win, hes going to beat rashad to the ground like the dog he is :boxing:
The Legacy 12-15-2008, 04:02 PM Griffin vs Evans - I'm really not too sure about this one. Every time I predict Evans to lose, he comes back stronger and surprises me. He has very fast hands and I think he could surprise a few more people on Dec 27th by winning the title. I hope not thought, I'll be cheering for Griffin.
Nogueira vs Mir - Big Nog is a fighting machine. He's been up against bigger and tougher guys and has never backed down so I think he'll be able to overcome the challenge of Mir and then challenge for the heavyweight title sometime next year.
Silva vs Jackson - I have Rampage down to take this. I think he'll be hungry after losing his title and apparently his new training camp has put him in the best condition he's ever been. Should be an awesome fight.
FloydsEra 12-15-2008, 09:57 PM rashad wins via lnp
Mir wins by split D. Nog has been looking very old in his recent fights and Mir is hungry for success. Mir holds his own standing and beats Nog in a grappling match now, slightly. cause nog is just so old. look at him, he's just too, old. His stamina has to be worse than it was.
Rampage knocks wandy out. Their first two fights were competitive and I think Wandy is shot now so Rampage should take this one.
Okami beats up Lister. UD win

if rampage loses again, will he lose his **** like he did when he lost the belt?
GreatestIam 12-16-2008, 03:59 AM Rashad is gonna outwork Griffin, this fight s gonna be competitive but i think Rashad can and will get Griffin to the grund and once again show us a new element of his aresenal.. winner of Silva v Rampage next! A fight i think Silva can win but i don tknow Rampage may catch him like he didnt do the last to fights.. Mir beat Brock and wont beat Nog, Nog will finsh him!
Brute Allmighty 12-16-2008, 02:36 PM I don't think Rampage will loose it mentaly if he looses for one he's not losing a title. Second off he's not running around talking so much **** like he did in the forest fight. I think this as it seems to do with most other fighters has brought a new and improved mental statis as well as a new found respect for other fighters. But only time will tell and we will see in the upcoming fight.
StillUnknown 12-16-2008, 08:10 PM Forrest is ****ing huge for 205. i think Rashad has to end the fight within the first 3 rounds. he will gas alot faster than Forrest will. i don't think Rashad has the gas tank to go 5 rounds. Forrest's chin can be checked so Rashad still has his chances.
like i said, Rashad wins within the first 3 rounds or Forrest grinds out a decision
Brute Allmighty 12-16-2008, 11:51 PM It's possible but I just look for Forest to be able to out last. Plus I don't think Rashad can make him do like chuck and change from a counter striker and come at him. Even if he does turn more offensive and tries to come at Rashad wich is what rashad needs to try and make him do. Forest doesn't leave himself open nearly as bad as chuck does which is why he got caught. But the one thing we have seen from Forest is like he said he really doesn't ever have a game plan. I just think as you stated Forests size will be hard for Evans to handle. And if doesn't get to land that big shot. Which I don't see happening nearly as easily as it did with chuck. I don't think he has the cardio. As you can see I'm a forest fan lol and gota hope for the best and look at all the good I can. But I will give Rashad his due for being undefeated and continuosly finds a way to pull out win after win. And deff has improved with every fight. I didn't like him at all at first because he seemed to do only as much as it took to win. But has turned it up as of late.
Savino 12-17-2008, 02:04 PM I am excited about this event and I am gonna go with Rashad to win. I feel it will be a 5 rounder but I just feel Rashad will win the 1st 3 rounds then Forrest stamina will come into effect.
I seen Rampage again at the weekend, 3rd time I have seen him now and he is looking in good shape.
