yeah i think his style just isn't for me. i don't like his flows or lyrics. theres a couple songs by him that are ok to me. but overall, i've come to the conclusion, i'm not a wayne fan.

His style is not the problem he's just hit or miss. His lyrics range from average to a bit above. But sometimes they are below average. Not saying I could do better but some of the **** just sounds dumb.

Regardless, if he has a song that I like I'll bump it.

He falls into the same category as any other commercial rapper, so similarly, there is a time and a place for some Lil Wayne. he does something different and with each individual song (because he's so inconsistent), you either like it or you don't. it's possible to nod your head to a track while recognizing that what you are listening to isn't real hip hop and isn't of high quality. quality doesn't determine catchyness (not a word...). a lot of his lyrics are ridiculous and far fetched but it's in an effort to be creative, i suppose. like in "Phone Home" he's not actually calling himself a ****ing martian, he's just separating himself from other rappers. he's saying he's another life form. a lot of his concepts are actually pretty clever but they just aren't executed in a very appealing way, or at least not a way that appeals to those of us who are hungry for something that we can consider true, raw hip hop. what's unfortunate is that he completely changed his style to cater to the mainstream. he didn't use to rap so slow and scattered until he realized that he would be more likely to gain commercial success if the white people that listened to the radio could understand him. it works for him though because he pushed it so far that it stands out, and if the typical top 40 radio listener can understand what's being said in a rap song, they don't give a **** about lyrical content and quality (which i think is how he gets away with writing such whack lyrics sometimes). he was pretty garbage before, in my opinion. at least now he can be catchy and entertaining. So in conclusion, Lil Wayne is a garbage rapper, but regardless he's very bumpable (also not a word).
