Please tell me he has. If this kids wants to have any sort of career he needs to ditch the guy that tells him he's doing "beautiful" when he is getting his ears boxed off. I like Katsidis and want to see him stick around but for ****s sake, get a trainer who'll teach you how to box and set up the power shots. Maybe throw in a little defensive training, yeah?

I haven't heard anything about Kat as of late, I hope he does find someone knew. I'm sick of seeing him use his face as a shot blocker. If he continues this way for much longer this will have severe implications for him later in his life, which I don't want to see in any boxer.

Yeah, Kat needs a new trainer. The problem is he loves him and Kat is all heart so it really wouldn't surprise me if he stuck with him.

Kats needs a 'World Class' trainer and no suburban boxing gym trainer like Smith. He needs a Freddie Roach or an Emmanuel Steward to teach him how to throw a jab more than once during a fight and needs work on his defence. Katsidis has been taking way too much punishment in his fights and this shortens a fighters career. Self-preservation is the key to longevity in Boxing.

I just think he needs someone who can actually read a fight and can help him work on a good solid Jab, roach would be perfect, even if it was for a month or too. But good luck getting Roach, that guy has been in demand for years.

And the insanity continues with Katsidis fighting in the Phillipines against an unknown fighter from Argentina... this in an attempt to lure the Pacman into battle. After fighting so hard to get into the American scene, he's fighting a fight virtually no-one will see and few outside the faithful will care about, against someone nobody knows. Does this make sense to anyone at all? Anyone?

Kat has improved a lot since the Earl fight, but all the improvements have been tested against elite fighters so the difference is less apparent. Smith is an excellent conditioner and motivator, but not so great on fight night when the chips are down. If Kostya Tszyu ever got the urge to train, wouldn't Katsidis be an excellent protege?

very focused mentally, and an extensive knowledge of boxing

No way, Katsidis needs a trainer with technique, that's something that Fenech didn't have while fighting and clearly doesn't have it as a trainer.

Kats needs to spend sometime in the wild card gym, maybe Roach could show him and his trainer a few things.

yeah i think he is his first actual decent fighter, like fighting in america for titles and that

he probably trains a few bums on foxsports fighting for "OPBF intercontinental pacfic..." etc titles

I think Smith has been a long time friend of kats and that's how he landed the gig, they started together.
