Hello all....I have a quick question.....why are the shoes from Title different than the shoes from the Nike site?

Notice how the Title machomai shoe has a black sole....but the Nike store one has a gumsole (yellowish color)

I also noticed that the one from the nike store has a zipper to cover the laces....while the ones from Title do not.

I've only seen Pacquiao wear the ones shown from that nike store site.... can anyone chime in on this? :boxing:

Anyways, this SUCKS....i live in Canada...but says on the Nike site that they don't ship internationally.....how f*ckin retarded.....I guess I Can send it to my bro and get him to ship it to me....what a hassle...

You know, I almost never open these kinda threads. But I am kinda glad I opened this one. I was just asked the other day to pick out some stuff I wanted for Christmas, and I got some custom trunks coming already...and they are red/white scheme and I do need new shoes come to think of it.

Now I know I ordered my last pr. of Nike's from the US via innerwebz, but it was a while ago, and was a gift also...so I guess they changed the policy?

i got the title machomais mids and they have held up over the past 6 months. actually, they are still in good condition and i even run in them on asphalt when we do sprints. yeah true the lacing system is pretty whack but nothing has showed me any signs of it snapping or loosening. the shoe still looks new, and doesn't stink up from sweat. the bottom of the shoe is getting worn out from all the pivoting at the front part of the shoe, its also from the running but i was skeptical at first & actually it took a lil to get used to, but i love them now.

wow, i tried making a post exactly like this a while back and didn't get a good enough response.. i did alot of research myself on the shoe because i was just as interested as you are, and i dont necessarily think that the zippered version on the nike site is the newer style. i thought that for a while, but pacquiao himself still trains in the non zippered version at times if you watch carefully in some of his recent training vids. the nike machomai shoe itself has just been released recently and i dont see how there could already be a "newer" version already.. seems to me that it's still in its first few batches of production so i doubt that. i'm also from canada and tried ordering off the nike site and was pretty pissed about that as well, but just ended up getting the style that the title site has

With the machomai, i was told that they fit more truer to size, and fit slightly bigger than the nike lo pros which makes more sense. since i wear a nine in almost everything, i went with the 9.5 and i'm sure they'll fit well based on my research. i ordered these less than a week ago, and i can give you a personal review on the shoe when they come in which should be very soon. hope i helped you out.

Hey, ya...I'd appreciate you letting me know also in here or PM when you get them. I just ordered a pr. through title also...as well as a bunch of other stuff. The order I was told will take 2-3 weeks as i have some custom stuff coming also, then has to go through the customs and excise procedure (whatever that is). Basically what shoe exactly you got...because I'm still not sure what I'm getting. haa. If it is what is pictured, or a slight variation.

As for Manny......he's a Millionaire, i'm pretty sure he has a bunch of pairs laying around... in the video i Posted in the first page, he said in Tagalog..that these were Brand new shoes.. and that he had to get used to them ahead of time before the fight....these were infact the shoes that had the zipper. I could tell from the color ...i'm still certain that he does wear the title shoes...except his are custom made...(the white/red ones you saw him wear against Erik Morales)...

Anyways, since I'm a gear addict (although i'm broke)...i've spent a lot of $$ on MMA gear..which I now regret... but im not going to think about that. lol. I'll probably get both in the near future.. when I get more $$$..

The laces on the Machomai's are hella weak. So i took the laces from my Everlasts and laced up my Nikes.

yeah i recently ordered them in red, havnt come yet tho, titleboxing is real slow to deliver for me, altho i hear realllll good things about the boots. and yeah i train and fight in mine too, tbh its the best way, some shoes you gotta get used to. if you have a unique boot lke the jordans, which i do, you havt got to train with them.

aha i believe manny likes to rotate his shoes when he trains/fights.. but im sure both versions are great.

I will wait for the reviews and hopefully some of you guys can provide pictures of the flaws (laces, sizing etcetc)

Until then, I'll probably buy a cheap wrestling shoe to start off with.. and buy the machomais in a couple of months time.

got mine yesterday. they real light, have good arch support and look sick. best boxing shoes i ever had. i recommend. dont even ask no more questions. they good. go by them i got them in red and white.

Interesting thread to read. I got my Machomais in Jan of 2009 i think...and had them right up until last month. Were a good shoe...nice and light for a mobile fighter. Not real sturdy tho...and when they decided to fall apart, last few months, they went all at once. soles, seams, in soles.

just recently bought these rivals below and am loving them. Much more sturdy then the Nikes. A bit heavier but not too bad. But also a lot better support through the ankles.
