I keep hearing on different threads about how great Antonio Tarver is and quite franly I don't understand it, take away what I consider to be a lucky punch victory over Jones and this cat has done what? Sorry, but Tarver ain't no superstar unless him running his mouth about how ferkin great he is somehow makes him one. Tarver needs to do a lot more than what he's done to be one of boxing's elite, i'll be very surprised if he gets past Glenn Johnson.

I wont be surprised if he gets past GJ. But I still think that he has A LOT more to do to be able to become great.

I would wait for several more fights before I decide if he really deserve to be in my elite list.

The only way he headlines a PPV is if he fights Hopkins. Otherwise, he's an undercard or a free fight. If Roy Jones would foolishly schedule him for his return match, it would be PPV too I guess.

Tarver is good, great... i haven't seen enough to believe it. i think he'll beat Johnson, however, i'd rather see Johnson win. Everyone is taking it for granted that Johnson is a bum and Tarver will walk right through him. Maybe so, maybe i hate Tarver for Koing RJJ ( i don't hate tarver, i just don't like him ). I couldn't agree more.

He showed he had no heart in his loss to a past prime jones and got his ass beat by harding. only real claim to fame is his loss to jones then of course the knock out win. The KO of jones looked impressive until a tough journeyman did it again a few months later. Tarver is way overated.

I dont think Tarver will ever be considered "Great".He'l be known for being the first to KO Jones Jr but thats about all he'l be known for because Johnsons whoopin Tarver December 18th!
