My favorite gaming memory of all time, if I had to narrow it down to one........

One day my dad picked me up from the schoolyard in his piece of **** red van, and in the back was a big assed box in a huge "Toys R' Us" bag. I knew what it was instantly, but it was sealed up. I pressed the white portion of the bag to the box to see what it was for sure, and I saw this........

http://www.geocities.com/djslacker1/images/super_nintendo_misc_box2.jpg

From that moment on my ****ty childhood took a turn for the better. Anytime I had a horrible day, got my ass jumped, beatdown, my shoes taken, hat, coats, whatever. I just came home and drifted off into "Dinosaur Land" with Mario and Yoshi.

Still love that ****ing game, it helped me through a ton of things back in the day.

**** I didn't mind it but everyday it got to be a real ****ing drag. Pretty much everyone here knows my story, at least the guys who know me decently enough do anyway.

It was a bunch of reverse racism by black kids and puerto rican kids, because my family was the only white family living in Kensington (horrible ghetto area in Philly).

And it was packs of dudes, I never even got a crack at a fair fight up there. It's hard to fight off 6 dudes at once, you know?

But ****, it's all past now, no biggie. Everyone gets their ass kicked when they're kids, I just got a lot more of it.

Just wanted to share the story because that game really helped me out. It was pretty much all I had to look forward to, and I think people often underestimate the power of a good video game and the effect it can have on a child.

That was me for the most part. The only consoles I ever got when they came out was the SNES that my dad bought us, and an N64 I worked damn near all summer for.

I'm lovin these nostalgic video game threads. I remember in elementary school everybody comin in braggin about how they beat this or that game, discovered this secret level or password and ****. Those were the ****in days. You were pimp of the year if you could beat Mario 3 without usin the ****in whistles. I remember when the Game Genie came out. That **** was the BOMB!

That reminds me of another gaming story of mine. Mortal Kombat 2 fatalities. In my school, that **** was enough to get you ***** almost (even though we didn't even know what ***** was then).

I remember when I figured out that back, back, down, low punch was Reptile's "head chomp" fatality, everybody in that school knew who I was.

*****es panties were probably wet too, if only I had jumped on it.

Yeah, I remeber people passing round bits of paper with all the codes on for the finishing moves on mortal combat.

Anyone else also remeber sharing million character long links you had to key into your Dreamcast browser to get a some dirty thumbnail **** pics....

I remember when I was about 8 and was at a babysitter 5 days a week for the summer, moms friend from work. She had a daighter and a son. The son that was younger than me owned megaman 3. I played that game almost all summer when being at the sitter until I beat it.

only other game he owned was milons castle.. we played it a bit

I totally forgot about Dreamcast ****. Man, every night my dad got done with the internet I was always browsing on my Dreamcast. Though I shared a room with my brother and most nights I couldn't look at the **** pics, but I had those links saved to my VMU for nights he went away. :lol1:

If I'm correct it was the controller for an NES track and field game.

You had to run in place on it in order to get your dude to run down the track.

I'm not sure what he's doing either, but it cracks me up trying to understand it.

It reminds me of the transformation scene in "An American Werewolf in London". I'm just waiting for Joe to drop to his knees and sprout hair from his back.
