Did anyone else see this?

MainEvent are putting the HW world title fight on PPV next weekend for $40.

That is unbelievable. Who in there right mind would pay even $4 to watch to ultra-shot Rahman?

Who determines what fights get on main event? Is that **** random? I mean a couple of months back we had Wlad-Thompson on channel 10 and Thompson is a lot better than Hasim Rahman right now.

I just don't understand how it works.

FOX SPORTS will only show live boxing from the USA on Main Event PPV, they never have any Live Boxing on Regular FOX SPORTS, except the Local Shows. It's an absolute joke Joke that FOX put every ****ing International fight on PPV.

Okay i know a lot of people are confused by this and how it makes money. I want to go into 2 things.

1: Australia is a market economy which is succeeding, prospering, not to badly hurt. Whats this mean and what the fck does it have to do with anything? Well a lot of people in this country are filthy rich. And in a lot of areas in Australia, average wage suprasses $1500 and $2000 a week. Rich people, and they still like sport and they still like boxing. Whats $50? So in conclusion of this first point, we have a lot of filthy rich people in Australia, who have the money to blow and don't give one ****, or even bother when reading the price tag. I know how bad that sounds but its the truth.

2. This fights in Germany right? Main event wouldn't even have to send out a team. All they would need to do is tune in to the German telecast. Which would cost what 20K? No other expenses. Thus they only need to sell, 500. Which they could do with there eyes closed. They will probably sell 2-3000 and its all profit.

For Mundines cards, the expenses are more with the commentary team etc etc. But for this, they are not broadcasting it themselves.

P.S Main event is a business. And they make a **** load!

lol... umm we are near recession, i dont think fox throwing us 4-5 of these on normal pay tv a year would be too much to ask.

There will be plenty of streams and might actually be an official stream, if you dont mind german commentary.

Lucky you put that on the end. I was going to make out a donation, because I was under the impression that they were a charity. Thanks for the clarification.

I agree, FOX could afford a few of these a year to be on FOX Sports.

That isn't the issue. To be honest I would not watch this fight if it was broadcast on normal Fox. I value my time at such a rate that there is no way that a Rahman fight could positively be positive EV for me. I just cannot understand how they think this fight is a PPV event. I guess its just the rights cost them barely anything and a select few nuts out there buy it. God knows who the fuk they are.

I agree, this isn't PPV material and having another PPV after last week is a bit too much to ask I think.

Yeah well you guys are lucky, we have to pay for every fight even the Regular HBO fights. It Sucks and plus it's not actually HBO coverage, it's some watered down broadcast with no stats or anything.

That really gives me the ****s. We pay the $50 and we don't even get the fully legit broadcast.

It is almost annoying to listen to the yanks whinge about their boxing coverage. Same goes for the British. Come live out here and see how the fuk you like it.

Worst still, I have some work friends whom live in states and they wouldn't even bother tuning in for the HBO fights.

It is on free HBO. We are in Australia, we don't get HBO.

Maybe we need to get some serious Satellite TV happening.

Possibly. In a few years even friday night fights, e.g with Zappa vs Browne will be short priced PPV's at $10 a pop.

Will cost around 2-3 thousand to get a satellite put in and you should get HBO off that...a workmate has it and its a one off cost...he gets all the Austar channels in all so theres a saving of 1500 per year for a start.

I don't think that will happen.

Just remember that this is a guy who is constantly saying Mundine is legging it back in time to take on Sugar Ray.

Answer me this? Why is the guy ranked by the WBA at MW? Why is he training? If he has no ambition, like what you say.

You don't know ****. Your just venting frustration about past and the next fight fight/s. After Taylor its business time.

Don't act as if you predicted it either.

P.S Bika has an offer. Its time he accepted.

He'll just keep doing the same thing. It is very easy money for him. He will just fight another very ordinary South American on MainEvent and pick up a ridiculous paycheck for it. Nothing new.

He has been on about this crap for years, I don't believe his **** anymore, nor yours.
