In some of these Best Chin threads I see they have put Holyfield in the lists but not Tyson.Does anyone really think that this is true? I say Tysons chin is better. Later brother brologs.

It's hard to say, from a physical standpoint, who took the better punch.
But, Holyfield reacted better to a punch. He'd get whacked & it wouldn't bother him. He'd keep coming the same as before he was hit.
Tyson, when hit, seemed to have a lot of his desire knocked out of him.

Thy both have very good chins. I'd take Hollyfield over Tyson though cuz I find he took more punishment in his career and there are plenty of fights where he should have gone down but didn't or should have gone down earlier but didn't. Showed great chin vs Bowe and Toney.

Holyfield did. Who knows now. Cooper, Forman, Bowe and Toney. And when he was stopped it was from several punches not just one... Like Tyson. Tyson just has a large sweet spot to tag.

Im with you 100% here! Tyson takes a good shot there is no doubt however once he tastes real power he changes as a fighter, his danger level goes down. Ya know Mike Tyson is very similiar to his nintendo video game self. He is dangerous early and if you can wait him out just a round or two he becomes very human. When he fought Lewis he took a tremendous beating and showed he was a tough dude, but when he won the first round he was clipped, yes just clipped by a Lewis uppercut and the fight was over because he had felt the power and became scared. Tyson has a good chin, but when he gets hit he deflates...he will hang around for a while but once he gets hit phycologically he has thrown in the towel. Fighters like Holyfield, Gatti, KT, etc get hit and it propels them to do more, Tyson is the exact opposite. BTW, I love Mike, overal he is my favorite fighter, his chin is good, but his fighting ability after his chin has been hit is awful, no other fighter in the game is affected quite the same as Mike.

Anyway, Holyfield no doubt has an all time chin. Took monster shots from Lewis, Bowe, Mercer, Rahman, Tyson and kept coming. Tyson also had a very good beard but like some have said once he tasted some good leather against guys who could follow up their shots, he became tentative and many times this led to him either winning a boring decision or actually losing.

Tough call this one as they both have great chins. I'm gonna have to go with Holyfield though as he seemed to take shots a bit better than Mike. I think there first fight answered this topic.

You have to remember that Tyson comes in hard and fast. That adds more impact to the punch.

Nah evanders chin is better. Just look at Holyfield-Bowe Round 10. How he stood was amazing. But when he fought back.....Thats Heart + Chin. Tyson is is just chin.

Perhaps you should take a look at bowe-holyfield 3 in the 8th round.Lets see now, holyfield comes in hard and he gets so hurt that he barely beats the 10count. Also you should see the 2nd fight ruiz-holyfield, Ruiz all but knocked Holy out with just 1 punch.You know I havn't seen Ruiz's name in any of the big punches list.Later brother brologs.

Both have GREAT chins. I guess Holyfield has took the biggest beatings and came back with the win. Everytime Tyson's been knocked around, which hasn't been often, he's lost.

Tyson had a good chin, his problems stem from lack of heart and character...i.e. when he gets hit hard, he wants to quit. The definition of the term "frontrunner" A guy who is determined and focused can recover from a punch better....everything else being equal

is there really a need for a debate on this one? i mean if you think evander has half the chin tyson does you smoke too much ganja. ahahahaha just kidding. its the other way around. i think evanders chin has been proven way more that tysons. i think that tyson is on a huge decline. and holy just needs to pass on his gloves to his great grandson who i hear is gonna be even better than evander.

yeah i agree with big_pappy on this one. i dont think holyfields chin is as good as tyson chin. i also think tyson has heart unlike some of you. i think he needs to control his emotions better and also control his anger. oh yeah and he should not be allowed to speak in public either.

I would say Tyson has a good chin, but his problem is what the punches do to his mentality.
He gets so frustrated when he get hit that he forgets too box and loses.

I think Tyson's chin is better. I recently watched again Razor Ruddock vs. Tyson II and Tyson took some BOMBS!!!! I think some of the punches that landed on him could've KTFO outta ANY heavywewight. Not just his lethal left hooks, but his right-hand was even landing on Mike & he just took it & kept banging Ruddock. That fight showed that he's got some beard.

Tyson has the better chin. Guys have landed their hardest shots against a prime Tyson and his head might go back a little, but he hardly backed up. Currently, Holyfield was knocked out by Toney. I highly doubt Tyson would be. Bowe wouldn't have knocked Tyson out either.

Then again, Lennox didn't knock Holyfield out. But again, Holyfield wasn't doped up on zoloft and Holyfield was favored to win. That does make a difference.

Both guys have good chins. But if it were a street fight, who would you rather have on your side? You know in your heart of hearts, you'd want Tyson. The intimidation alone would probably be enough. But I think anybody would agree that Tyson would be the better street fighter. So, I give him the tilt on good chin.

The only thing is Holyfield is a lot more used to getting hit than Tyson. Unfortunately, Tyson has started getting used to it himself.

Tyson seems to have a better capacity for punishment also since he still talks normal. Or...he at least talks like he's always talked. While Holyfield has done about like Riddick Bowe and slurs his speech heavily now.

Holyfield took some of Tysons punches and didn't get knocked out. So, he clearly has a great chin and great heart. Nobody can deny Holyfield's heart. He hasn't ducked people. As much as I dislike him as a person, I do like him as a fighter.
