Now I am asking about fighting @ 160 lbs, he is not callings it quits just yet,he is still looking for something big, maybe a fight with Joppy,Taylor and Mayo or Trinidad all @ 160? Or are these guys too much for him? Fight Sturm again or Hopkins? Whats next for him?

he should lure sharmba into going up to 154 and fight him.

I think a fight with Mayo would be good, or I guess he should fight Tito again. I thought he was doing well against Hopkins, but they way he went out was kind of ***** IMO. I dont know if they should fight again.

after that bodyshot which IMO he could/should of got up from, I am starting to see many more fighters using it in their bouts. Did other fighters learn something from that? I guess so huh?
I would like to see what he can do vs Joppy ,win or lose to Taylor. If Joppy wins then that would make it a better fight. If all else fails he can go back to 154, but we are talking about 160 here

if he doesn't want to get killed, he needs to go back to 147...

He needs to start his singing career again and quit trying to be something he isn't. Something worth watching.

First, that Tupac quote you keep using is really stupid. Do you really think anyone wants to see DLH fight Joppy. He was clearly to small and out gunned against Hopkins. He needs to ride off into the sunset.......

Adios

DLH should look to 154 for success. He still had good power there and didn't have to worry about getting roughed up so much.

yes at 154 he didnt have devestating power
but had to rely on his boxing to set up great shots that caused knockouts
i hope he goes back to 154

Well buddy if you don’t like the quote you have an ignore button you can use, feel free to use it.

Yes a Joppy vs DLH fight would bring out the best especially if Joppy beat Taylor. After seeing Trinidad kill Joppy in what 4-5 rounds, I am curios to see what DLH can do to him or visa versa.

the thing is, as a singer he isnt worth listening to :D

I think Oscar should just retire, and enjoy his money, wife, and a little fame.

I know that. As opposed to suggesting retirement, I was giving him an option. Actually, he should focus on promoting fights. Get them on an english speaking channel though.

To tell you the truth, I ahve no urge to see DLH fight anyone really.

Actually, I'd like to see Trinidad knock his ass out and then he can ride off into oblivion. He used to be exciting to me, and know I find his fight very very boring. I don't care what anyone says....he knew he couldn't beat Bernard after the first 6 rounds and he just gave up. When you get hit really good to the body you don't have enough air or strength to punch the canvas and **** like he did. The guy is boring and I never thought I'd say that about him.

Winky has power? Since when? He couldnt even KD Vargas. And yes winky was KO b4. But he is ducked alot, I hope to see DLH,Trinidad or Quartey in action with him

Quartey lost a lot with the first loss to DLH (INO I don't think he lost) But when he came back with his pretty blond hair, he looked like he spent a month in prison or San Fran. He lost much of his skillz. DLH should fight Ray Lenard, a battle of promoters.

Quartey Did lose alot of his skills but he can still take a punch, 12 round with DLH, the Vargas, I would like to see hm fight MOsley,Wright,Tito etc...

I hope that layoff helps him out and gave him time to think about things better

Who Cares what DLH does he needs to drop back down in weight though, if he could make 147 i would like to see Kostya comeup to 147 they were gonna fight then KT got beat by phillips now is as good a time as any

Retirement, thats what next.

Renegade
11-09-2004, 06:14 PM
DLH should go back to 154 and fight the winner of Winky/Shane. If it's Winky, and DLH beats him, that would set up a return match with Shane. If it's Shane, and DLH wins, then Tszyu could come up and make the ultra big $$$ he's looking for. Then, maybe, he could go out against Tito and finally kiss it good-bye. Don't write him off yet, you guys, he can still bring a lot of attention to our sport, and maybe attract some of these NHL fans with nothing to do.

oscar should not go to 160 anymore. he should think about winky, margarito, ouma, forrest and spinks at 154. he should be 0 and 2 at 160. if he fights taylor and trinidad he will be 0 and 4.

No he wasn't. He was knocked down like five times against Julio Cesar Green, but he's never been knocked out. I promise you, I'm right. He lost by UD, and twice by MD. never by KO. I agree with the first part of your statement, though.

By Karl Freitag
Six-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya isn't expected to make any announcements regarding his boxing future for several months. However, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer commented to ********* on what Oscar is considering. "I spent a few days with Oscar when I saw him in Florida [during the WBO convention] and from there we flew to Puerto Rico so I was able to spend some time and we touched on the subject. He said 'it hasn't even been two months since I last fought, so let me rest. Let me catch my breath and we'll discuss it.' He wants to see what's going to happen and what's going to shake out in the next two months. Obviously with Shane Mosley and Winky Wright fighting now, Trinidad I think fighting in March, Vargas fighting in March, Hopkins I think fighting in February, a lot of fights are going on which potentially have an outcome that might have something to do with who Oscar is going to be fighting. I really don't expect Oscar to make an announcement as to his next opponent within the next few months."
