View Full Version : Who is all going to order the upcoming ppv???
spinksjinx 11-08-2004, 12:21 PM The Heavyweight card next week who is ordering????
I thought about it and it was $34.95 which wasnt bad but the cable company hiked it up to $49.95, I have been on a spending spree as of late and cant really afford to it order it although I want to because this is the only way to see heavyweight champs fight, it is frustrating!
Convince me into ordering it......
Bombardier 11-08-2004, 12:27 PM Just promise yourself you won't order the Vitali-Danny fight later. You'll be much happier with 4 heavyweight tilts instead of one that probably won't be all that good. If you skip this one you might be more inclined to buy that one.
jabsRstiff 11-08-2004, 12:30 PM Spinks....
People should be paid to sit through that garbage marathon.
Save your $$$.
bigdlb12 11-08-2004, 12:39 PM no I'll pass on that
tracylee 11-08-2004, 12:40 PM Spinks....

Exactly! I'm passing on this one and using that money to order Morales-Barrera....I know I wont end up regretting that! ;)
jabsRstiff 11-08-2004, 12:42 PM I predict you'll see 48 rds. of non-action.
When I think of this card...the word "DREARY" is in all caps.
Explosivo 11-08-2004, 02:42 PM I dont even care about this HW card. Who ever wins, who gives a **** IMO. This line up is boring. Im not really looking forward to anything right now. I dont care about the Winky vs Shane fight, I dont care about these HW, I dont care about Vitali vs Danny Williams and I dont care to see Barrera and Morales go at it again. I think boxing is in a bit of a slump at the moment...
I am not expecting much from this card, however I think there is a decent chance that Golota beats Ruiz and McCline beats Byrd, I am a boxing junkie who gets everything, I even bought Paul Spadafora vs. Dennis Holeback for $25 on the off chance that Spaddy would get hurt badly.
Anyways if anyone lives in the beautiful state of Washington I will be getting the fight and anyone who is a fight fan is welcome at my place...lots of alcohol, texas holdem, and HW boxing, it's kinda like one of those Old Milwaukee beer commercials...it doesn't get any better than that!

Sounds alot like me; I usually rent and watch any boxing I can, but only cause of the Morales-Barrera ppv in the same month I'm holding off on this one ;)
borikua 11-08-2004, 03:28 PM i'll save my $$$ for Morales-Barrera.
The1God 11-08-2004, 03:35 PM IMHO I can't think of any fight I want to see on PPV right now. Maybe Tito vs DLH or Nard. Ummm, cant think of many. MAB V Morales is going to be ok but MAB isn't was he was before. If I can find somebody else to get it or somewhere to go to watch it, I might. But to shell out 50 on crap.
On a side note, if I start drinking early, I will end up ordering it... LOL
jabsRstiff 11-08-2004, 03:47 PM 1God....
I think you're a good poster....but, I have no choice but to put you on "ignore" due to that avatar of yours.
It is really that horrifying.
Hopefully, when you finally remove it, someone will say something....& I'll take you off the ignore mode.
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 11-08-2004, 04:52 PM My money is very limited so, im gonna spend my ppv money on Morales vs Barrera III And hot tub time on Friday.

...Yeah, everytime I read one of his posts I'm nervous someone is going to walk in the room and see that avatar. My wife saw it on accident and was like WTF is that?

this is my exact oppositite thinking
but this month im avoidin this card for the morales-mab 3
but either way if there were no ppv
i still wouldnt order it
its just not that appealen to me
Soundtraveler 11-08-2004, 05:03 PM I just don't see anything on the horizon PPV wise that I would even consider buying....

Somebody please let this guy know I removed the best fighter out there "the Asian Sensation" as my avatar. Sorry you didn't like it dude, thank you for the comments though!
patto1984 11-08-2004, 05:30 PM screw paying for that crap. i dont care for no heavyweights around theyre all bums. save your money. ill just go to the pub n watch it and spend my 40 on beer.
spinksjinx 11-08-2004, 06:03 PM Morales vs Barrera III is going to be a snooze fest, both guys are going to be cautious and be looking ahead to the major payday ahead of them....
Danny Williams will in noway get my hard earned money.
borikua 11-08-2004, 09:03 PM CHRIS BYRD
“Jameel McCline and me are good friends. Our wives are good friends. But this is a competition. And I am really looking forward to the fight. Style-wise, I love this match-up. Jameel is the biggest, most athletic guy I have ever fought. I think when the fans first see us in the ring, they will think he will beat me easily. But I know how to fight big guys and by the third or fourth round, it will be a different story.”
“The key in all my fights is to frustrate the guy in front of me and keep him off balance. At this level, you cannot take anyone lightly. This is going to be a great fight.”
HASIM RAHMAN
“I am looking to make a statement. I don’t just want to win a decision. I want a devastating knockout. I feel better and smarter now than ever before. I have got all the pieces to the puzzle. It is just a matter of putting them together. Meehan is a tall, durable guy with a good jab and good speed. He comes to fight. But with a world title shot on the line, there is no way he can beat me.”
JOHN RUIZ
“I feel my mental focus for this fight is better than it’s ever been. In every single fight I’ve always looked for a win and I just have to go out there and do it all over again.
“I’m going to work Golota real hard right from the beginning because I know he’ll get frustrated. Expect me to be very active in the ring, throwing a lot of punches and moving around.”
ANDREW GOLOTA
“The reason I am coming in at 235 is because I have to be faster for this fight. Ruiz will try to make the fight a wrestling match. But I will try to keep him away with the jab. The upper cuts.
”I will try to move as much as possible so he can't hold me and lay on me. But that is all I can say because I know the Ruiz people are reading the papers. For me...if I don't win this fight I retire. I'm getting too old to train this hard for this many weeks for nothing.”
neils7147933 11-08-2004, 09:06 PM I buy all the Saturday night PPVs so I'll be watching this one. I might skip V Klit vs. Williams next month, but I'll get this one and MAB/Morales definitely.

Skip morales and barerra as well as the klitschko card...They will be replayed next week....But watching them a week later is not exciting, so I understand but save your money for better fights.
neils7147933 11-08-2004, 11:13 PM Showtime's got a better card on Dec 4 - now HBO's gonna show a replay in front of Taylor-Joppy?
Supafly25 11-08-2004, 11:15 PM i wouldnt waste my money on the heavyweights but im hoping i can go watch it for free down at the club. im def gonna get my moneys worth from Barrera vs Morales though.
tracylee 11-09-2004, 12:20 PM Morales vs Barrera III is going to be a snooze fest, both guys are going to be cautious and be looking ahead to the major payday ahead of them....
Danny Williams will in noway get my hard earned money.
Man, I hope youre DEAD wrong about that!!! This is a long awaited grudge match (considering the decision went to the wrong fighter in both previous fights) and theres SUPPOSED to be fireworks, DAMN it!! :D
LuKahnLi 11-09-2004, 12:21 PM Not me.
And frankly tracy, you got kids. You shouldn't either.
bigdlb12 11-09-2004, 12:27 PM no I'll pass on that
I had no idea that they had all these fights on the same card, YEs I will get it now :D
BoxingPromoter 11-09-2004, 12:31 PM I'll probaly split the cost of pay per view with several buddies
of mine.Otherwise, I'll pay an entrance fee to go to a sports bar
and watch it. Isn't anybody interested in Evander Holyfield any
more? Give him some credit, he's fought the best heavyweights in
my time( Tyson,Foreman,Holmes,Bowe,Lewis)and never backed down
from figting anybody! Although he past his prime, he has the
heart of a champion and I think he has alot fight left in him.
In Muhammad Ali's last years as a fighter was there as much dis-
interest in him as there is in Holyfield?

Bars charge you to get in to watch a fight in Boston?
How much is this PPV up north?
I have talk with a few about the cost of the DLH vs Hopkins fight, some places said 49.95, Dallas was 54.95 and I think W.Virginia 64.95
tracylee 11-09-2004, 12:35 PM Not me.
And frankly tracy, you got kids. You shouldn't either.
Uh, I have A kid, a daughter, and she's more hyped to see Morales - Barrera than I am
Having a kid doesnt mean I cant watch boxing. She loves it too ;)
BoxingPromoter 11-09-2004, 12:39 PM Sports bars in the suburbs of boston change around 25 dollars. Better off
spliting the cost at home with friends where beer and food is cheaper.

Oh, okay. I wouldnt put her through that heavy wt. card, believe me! She'd sit and "boo" them all night.........she has NO patience at all.
Fortunately I wont have to sell her to see Morales-Barrera and even if I did it would have to be AFTER the fight cause she wont miss it! :D

Damn 25.00, you better off going to a nude bar to see it, In TX bars cant charge you to see the fight, but they do have a 2 sometimes 3 drink min, I work for Comcast (cable company) and get the fight 1/2 off. so I am cool and if I get some people to go in 1/2 with me,even better
LeFtHooK24 11-09-2004, 12:59 PM **** i watch the fights free i got a scrambler . just that sometimes i cant get them in english but with the fighters today **** they dont speak it either
