My father was rushed to the hospital this morning. He had a heart attack.
He had a slight pain in his left arm and chest last night. He took an aspirin because that's supposed to help or whatever, and he seemed fine after that. I got a call from mom this morning about a quarter til 10 and that's when she told me he was being taken to the hospital. I hurried home to be with my little brother.

My older brother called about 1pm to let me know that the doctors went in and put a stint (I think is what it's called) into one of dad's arteries. There was 100% blockage. I think he'll be in the hospital until Sunday or Monday, then they want to go back in next week and insert another stint into a different artery.

Please keep him in your prayers.

I hope he recovers quickly, Bella. A stint is much better than a bypass, which they do in worse cases.

Wow that sucks. I really hope he recovers well and doesn't develop further problems. Always a scary situation when stuff like this happens. I wish you dad well.

Update:
Mom just called and said he's doing well. She said he's being a bit stubborn and doesn't understand why he cannot come home. He's been pulling on his IVs and stuff. I can see it now. He needs his computer and internet and he'll be good as new.
I wish I could go see him, but I don't think I'll be able to until in the morning. I was going to go stay the night, but he's still in ICU.
But, all in all, he is doing well. He's been sitting up in the bed talking to her. I'm sure he's pretty drugged up though. Quite the entertainment coming from my father, I'm sure.

that's good to hear. even though he doesn't really know me, tell him tony said "word up brotha!!"

Another update.

I talked to dad on the phone just a few minutes ago. He sounds great. Says he's in no pain or anything. He just wanted me to turn off his computer and make sure no packages came today, haha. (He's into buying and selling on ebay now...)

He gets to come home Sunday, which is cool, but he has to go back in next week to have another stint put into another artery.
Also, he has moderate heart damage, which is probably why they are keeping him until Sunday. All in all, he sounds great and he was about to eat dinner when I talked to him.

I hope your father is ok, Bella. My father almost needed to have an Angioplasty today but after checking his arteries they were fine. Your father actually had the heart attack so I can only imagine how you must feel.

Glad everything seems to be going ok. Hope it continues in the positive direction. Being the good daughter you are, slap him around a little bit and get him to start taking care of himself and eating better for his own sake.

He's in the best health he's ever been in. He's lost tons of weight and he's been eating alot better. He's always busy working outside or something of the sort.

Wow. Well I hope that everything turns out for the best and he lives a long and happy life. Somethings just can't be explained.

:( thats so sad....you're dad is such a great guy. hes alwas been so so nice to me everytime i've been over there. Makes me feel even worse cuz we havn't gotten to talk much this week and i didn't know bout this till i got to work today :( i hope everything goes well, and its deffinetly good to hear hes doing good. if you need anything you better let me know! me and the fam will have him in our prayers.
