I thought about this when Carter Williams got DQ'd for use of the elbow.

K-1 is said to allow all fighters and all disciplines which have a 'stand up style' but isnt the use of the elbow a move practised under Muay Thai? I am under the impression that it is so shouldn't it be allowed in K-1?

This would make the K-1 fights more exciting IMO!

Elbows would cut fighters in a matter of seconds, which will result in short and controversial matches.

Elbows=no good

It may cut them but it is a part of Muay Thai and if K-1 really thinks that it allows all disciplines the elbow should be allowed.

After all the use of the elbow is allowed in other MMA organizations!

that would be interesting if K-1 did allow elbos but the number of cuts per fight will increase and will result in more RSC stoppages hence, less action

elbows should be allowed. Top level fighters know how to defend them

not only elbows but standup grappling..... hmmm, wouldnt that then turn K-1 into a Muay Thai match?

it definetly wont happen now that K1 has their own MMA promotion in HERO's.

Is that promotion active? I remember reading Brock Lesnar was going to work for that organization...

They are gonna be a bitmore active. They are supposed to have an April Las Vegas show from what ive read with Lesnar rumoured to take on big Choi Hong Man. Choi is a 7 ft tall korean monster who throws pretty good muy thai knees and has fought fairly respectably in K1

I'll have to look for that; thanks for the info...

Is HEROS affiliated with ESPN as well?

K-1 lost its deal with ESPN PPV, Integrated Sports picked up the PPV distribution rights.

As for Lesner, he should be making his debut May 19th. He was tooled by both Matt Hughes and Mike Ciesnolevicz not so long ago, 2 guys he outweighs by 100lbs+, so I don’t really give much hope against The Techno Goliath. His only hope is to lay and pray.
