Ontario Submission Wrestling Invitational
On December 6, 2003 the Ontario Submission Wrestling Invitational will be supporting the Rocinha Project. The Rocinha Project began with the selling of postcards and photos back in April to help raise money for the children in Rocinha practicing jiu-jitsu. The children of Rocinha are offered Jiu-Jitsu for free. The two main requirements to train at the Rocinha Jiu-Jitsu Academy
is that the children must be a resident of Rocinha and they must stay in school. Jiu-Jitsu not only promotes education to the children, but it teaches them sportsmanship, discipline, humility and morality.
The children's families cannot afford to buy kimonos and supplies for them to train. The Rocinha Project donates 100% of the procceds to allow these children to train. Jiu-Jitsu helps to keep these children off the streets which are full of drugs and crime.
There will be a table set up at the Ontario Submission Wrestling Invitational. Yael Young has teamed up with Sharon Bonewicz (aka meow) and the Rocinha Project to support this worthy cause. Yael will be selling T-Shirts, patches and postcards to help raise money for the Rocinha Project. (Buy 2 of any item and get a free postcard). Please stop by the table to show your support!
