Nick Diaz is in negotiations to fight Robbie Lawler at U.F.C 47. Diaz would have faced Karo Parisyan had St. Pierre not accepted to fight Karo in place of Pete Spratt.
Diaz vs. Lawler has not yet been signed, however this fight does make alot of sense.

Nick has to take this one to the ground. He cant throw with Robbie. If this fight goes to the ground Nick has a good chance.

IMO, Lawler is too strong and physical for Diaz. I like Lawler by decision.

This is an interesting fight. I don't think Lawler has ever been on his back for any lengh of time

Diaz wins by submission early, Round 1.
I don't recall Lawler ever facing a top notch sub guy, and I think he's way overrated. Diaz by sub.
On a side note, I hate guys losing there UFC spots(Spratt) cause they lose in other promotions. These guys are just trying to pay the bills, and I still think Spratt is really talented, he needs to work with wrestlers and learn takedown and subdefense. He should train with TQ, they could learn his MT skills and he could learn there skills. I know this can't be accomplished quickly, and it's 100% unlikely to happen. Just a thought.

Lawler vs ????? at UFC 45 was the best fight the event offered. I wouldnt mind seeing it again. Lawler is a good and up and coming fighter but i think hes overrated too. I would like to see Jeremy Horn fight anyone at any weight class. The guy ights almost every month and i think its time he gets to fight in one of the big orgs again.

Horn has been branded a boring fighter by the big shows. He seems to have changed his game a bit in the IFC tourny. I believe he belongs in the big show again too......

Is Diaz the guy who just beat Jeremy Jackson?

Its unfortunate that Horn is known as being a boring fighter by some because in my mind there is nothing more exciting other than a huge knockout than a quick submission or just watching someone as good as horn or Nog work on the ground.....

Diaz's only chance is on the ground. However, I don't think he can hold Robbie on the ground for long. Robbie gives great entertainment..... with your average fighter.... he rocks em, but higher calibur guys.... he isnt ready for IMO. I think it is a good fight to put on the card, however i don't see Nick winning this one. He took some brutal hits from JJ in UFC 45.... and quite honestly..... I think JJ would be a better match for Lawler.. more excitement, more entertaining.... but who knows....
from what i've seen in diaz' fights.... he has a weak chin. i personally think he got lucky with JJ.
and to add to Zen's comment...... i also think it is bull**** that these guys are losing there UFC spots(Spratt) cause they lose in other promotions. thats just plain ****ty.
