I'm Gumby, Dammit!
(1981-84)
As a regular SNL star, Murphy creates some of the show's most memorable characters and moments: Gumby; "Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood"; Velvet Jones, the pimp; the "Buckwheat Sings the Classics" record commercial (featuring "Unce, Tice, Fee Times a Mady"); John David Stutts, the man who shot Buckwheat; "James Brown's Celebrity Hot Tub"; and angry prison poet Tyrone Green, who pens "Kill my landlord/C-I-L-L my landlord."
