well i will tell you what i think.

unions are one of the main reasons that american life is not as ****ed up as it could be right now.

I am Pro-Union. My Dad raised me cuz of the union.

If a union falls here in SoCal - there will be no stoping the fall of the other grocer unions in the read of the county.

Even if hurts me a little - i am willing to bear that for the sake of the little man being able to poke back at the donkey punching power house suits - they dont care about people Bottom line to them us money and profit - they dont give a **** about people. I do so that is why i stand with them.

I'm not against unions per se. Generally speaking I support them (I wish they had one for call centre staff in Australia really).

That said, I AM against supporting causes carte blanche just BECAUSE they are union.

In this case, I really do feel that the unions' are not looking objectively at all the facts and how their cause will impact the chains, the economy and American life overall.

Infact, I find it inherently selfish.

They charge dues and never earn their money. They did their job in the early days but now their just a drain on workers.

I didn't read this thread, only the first post. All I got to say is that you have NO right to get pissed at anyone's moderating job after the way you handled your modship over at Sherdog, TheJake. You and Arju would close threads left and right if you didn't agree with them.

I am totally against rape, but not against joking around. I know that it is a sore spot with Arju because of family things and I respect that.

I told a joke which angered Arju and yourself. I made a joke about slipping a chick roofies. I did not say I actually did this.

You don't think me deleting close to 20 pages of threads started by Shootoking and going out of my way to provoke an admin had a hand in it?

Fact is, it was a handleful of people who felt that way and not everyone. Some people were obviously touchy about being stung once by "moderator's discretion" and felt a need to be more than a little vindictive.

The fact you felt the immediate need to vindicate your position highlights it.

It should also be highlighted that you didn't give two ****s about the PC factor until it was raised as being inappropriate so don't even go there.

Hey I don't admit I made some bad calls on the Sherdog. Particularly in the end with Shootoking. But some threads were better off gone than hanging around. Threads advocating date rape being one of them.

Rape is obviously a touchy topic but I fail to recognise how a discussion on grocery employees going on strike is even comparible.

Then the rape parade came through and deleted my post and started PMing the **** out of Sherwood about how we can't talk about rape. I then talked about how it was a joke, and I took my warning and yes there was a big argument on sherdog about it. Some guy named ghost wrote "RAPE IS FUN" or something like that, but I had nothing to do with that.

No doubt that I made some bad calls as a moderator. That said, for nearly every deletion or closure there was I provided an explanation. For some it wasn't good enough. Fair enough. But at least I tried to provide one. Which is more than some people ever do. Yourself included.

They replaced me with someone the felt was more appropriate. More power to them. Do I care? No.

The moderators that have come and gone through Sherdog and the state that board has been in at times, I cannot help but laugh.
